THALES OPTRONICS .S.A & SHIBLI ELECTRONICS have been awarded a Major Contract for the Upgradation of 105mm Tanks with Catherine FC Thermal Imaging System. Thales Optronics.S.A will be the prime Contractor where as Shibli Electronics would be the Subcontractor in Pakistan. Col Syed Muhammad Nasir – Ud – Din, Comdt EME 505 Wkp visited Shibli Electronics today. The purpose of his visit was to see the industrial organization, Design, Production and factory level repair & Maintenance of Thermal Imagers. He was warmly welcomed by Executive Committee of Shibli Electronics. During His visit he was briefed and demonstrated about the industrial partnership of Thales – Shibli Electronics, Production activities, Operational capability and project details. He also visited the clean room and inspected the work flow of Sophie Repair along with factory level repair. He was also shown the first lot of Repaired Sophie ready for Dispatch to Pak Army. A live view of the repaired Sophie was also being arranged. Col Syed Nasir – Ud – Din was highly impressed from the industrial facility of Shibli Electronics in Pakistan. Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila, Lt General Wajid Hussain visited Shibli Electronics today. The purpose of his visit was to see the Production & Integration capabilities of Cooled & Un Cooled Thermal Imaging Systems for Land Defense Applications. He was warmly welcomed by Executive Committee of Shibli Electronics. During His visit he was briefed and demonstrated about the Thales – Shibli joint collaboration, factory level repair / maintenance and production capability of cooled and un – cooled thermal imagers. He also visited the clean room and different departments. He was highly impressed from the industrial facility of Shibli Electronics. He congratulates SEL and admires that it is a matter of pride to have such an international standard facility for local production, repair & maintenance and integration of thermal imagers.
