What's new

Updated statistics: Total number of personnel 678,617!

Are reserves included in that number?
If I include reserves we still have about 3000 M48 Patton tanks, while most of these have FCS upgrades(M48A5T2 level), about half of them should be disassembled and stored somewhere. But I'm not sure how many of these old generation tanks Turkish Army will keep operational until 2020's M60s are in fairly better condition. Along with Leopard 1s and M60Ts a number of M60A3s may be kept operational so... I'm not entirely sure.

But if it was 1980s figure you've asked, we've had LOTS of tanks back then :)

But we are five times larger than Greece...

I know. That means GDP per capita is lower. But GDP per capita has little relation with country power! Qatar has a high GDP per capita as well.

GDP is important in comparison of countries in term of global power.

Of course, but don't you think it's unfair for a hardworking industrial nation to have lower per capita than a small touristic nation that produces almost nothing but a series of crops? As of 2013 we should also have a better per capita now that they are in an economic crisis. It's normal, It's what Turkey deserves.

Anyway, screw economics.

It seems the growth rates are calculated by constant prices:
GDP growth rate: Percentage change of real GDP compared to previous year. Real GDP is adjusted for inflation

Of course it doesn't include the collapse of berlin wall and inflation numbers between 1970 and 2011 so it doesn't mean anything to me but again, 40 years isn't such a long time.

We are talking about the Europe's biggest exporter and world's second biggest exporter after China. In Turkey we produce Italian, French, American brands but German cars are the most imported.
