UP: Baby girl born with 'trunk' in Aligarh, people call her 'Lord Ganesha's wife'

Aligarh, March 27: In a village in Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh, people are flocking to have a glimpse of a baby girl, who was born with a 'trunk' on Thursday, March 26.

According toTOI report, people from nearby areas thronged at the house of a vegetable seller Om Prakash and Sarvesh, the girl's parents, to see the baby girl. [Baby boy born with 4 arms, 4 legs; dubbed as "Hindu God" by parents]

Thinking her to be God's avatar, locals labeled her as 'Lord Ganpatni" (Ganesha's wife) and formed queue for 'Devi darshan'.

Women sang spiritual songs to welcome the baby. Baby's grandmother, 60-year-old Omvati is also elated that so many people have gathered to have a look of her granddaughter.

Om Prakash hopes that the girl would make his family's fortune better.

Some of the cricket lovers even preferred to first have a look at the baby girl and then watch the World Cup semi final between India and Australia.

Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) arrives at baby's home

In an attempt to keep the crowd under control, the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) reached the home of the baby girl, to avoid any untoward incident.

It happens due to malnutrition, say doctors

Doctors said that the reason behind such protrusion is due to gene mutation, malnutrition and increase in pollution levels.

Another doctor even cautioned that a boy with a trunk was born few days back, but he could not survive. If this baby girl survives, then parents can go for surgery.

exactly... her mother should be blamed for not demanding good food or not acquiring it by herself... additionally that village may have underground water that is poisoned by compounds like arsenic, fluorides or mercury.

also, can this be a "parasitic baby", a separate baby that somehow got fused to this girl??

There are surgeries which can give a chance of life.
I don't know how much you know about India but these people will use her to earn money and respect in society.
Her very own parents won't allow because after surgery she might become ugly ( yes they are shallow even parent can stoop so low)
Her parents will see this as a chance to make money and rather not face problem of a scarred unmarried child.

God bless her. She will have to suffer and nobody can do anything about it

Hinduism might not be highlighted because of its smaller scale but there are no less evil created than Islam's modified perception. Religions are bent for personal gain and others loss.

She is lucky to be born in backward India. In other countries she would be called a cripple and condemned for life. Genetic mutations like these have no cure anyway.
