‘Unprecedented’ numbers crossing from Afghanistan to Pakistan

How was this unprecedented? It was the most likely outcome.

True, there was a strong possibility of this, but we didn't have to open wide, like the way establishment did. They say one thing and do another. It only undermines their credibility, or what's left of it , and that is not a good thing. People's faith in their government is crucial for the stability of the country.

No. The numbers crossing over to Pakistan increased 3 times since Taliban came to Power. Also this has become one way traffic. In normal time, thousands also cross over to Afganistan from Pak which is not the case any more now as you will see hardly few dozens cross to Afganistan from Pak side atm.
to me this sounds like exaggeration

Imran khan is a strange person. Says something and then does the exact opposite.
When he said "Absolutely not" , then why settle a new wave of Afghani refugees in Karachi?
PTM will grow stronger in the financial hub of Pakistan and poor Katachiite's problems will increase even further.

@jus_chillin , go to bbc urdu, cammunity section about Afghan football team refugees

Pakistanis are still ready to accept them, although some talking crap

Although I saw a comment a punjabi cursing on other punjabis for accepting afghans (they came to Lahore, Punjab sports authority welcomed them I think) after what they said about them, bringing history etc with couple of likes too

Comment got deleted lol, so they're probably stopping it from turning ugly

But largely it seems Pakistanis are back to "loving" the "brother country"

Afghan can do no wrong as far as pakistanis are concerned...

Our people are ready to mend ties...
Calling the hate propoganda

I can't tell anymore. I don't know if I am or those who are letting in 100s of 1000s of people in to Pakistan who hate us and will shortly be committing terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.

Perhaps it's neither stupid or dumb. Perhaps it's madness or treachery. Who knows.

That was always written on the wall....and was the actual plan of US leaving the space here (one of the objective of leaving)....sadly our elites with their usual lack of thinking and short sighted vision.....added another feather of blunder, to their cap.

Aight so I went through the comments. Some of them were funny af, some of them were cringe, but overall you kinda do see a shift.

Top 2 comments are talking about nammak haramism and the heera mandi stuff.

As you go further down you have ummah brigade and peace crowd. Then there's more negative comments.

Overall this shows a change in the society. 10 years ago this wasn't really said by anyone, now the comments are a bit mixed. But what's even funnier is that the people who are calling them nammak haram or telling them to get out of Punjab are getting accusations that they are Indian LOL

I think some incidents such as the cricket world cup match as well as the social media trash the gov was spewing opened a lot of peoples eyes. Afghans are a small population in Pakistan and they have a small population overall. The only overlap would be Pashto social media stuff, the people outside of those regions probably don't have that much contact or exposure with them, but since the both of us are diaspora we know how they really are.

My cousin in Pakistan was telling me that he thinks Pakistan is only gonna allow the Afghans who have high "skills" into the city or the football team for PR purposes. He thinks they won't be given as much rights or leeway as compared to Zia and Musharraf era. My grandma thinks a lot of them are going to get deported since they "misbehave a lot" LMAO. My other cousin thinks Pakistan is kinda forced to accommodate them to keep good relations with Taliban as well as having leverage.

So, we will see, but the comment section is pretty mixed. "Everything will be ok" I suppose.

As overseas I know the attitude is trash and thier racism is especially reserved if they somehow get a hint you're from Punjab (so in front of Afghan I usually lie to avoid conflict lol)

There's no stopping from that point on

So it hurts me to see them in Lahore a city they dislike so much as it's the cultural heartland of Punjab, all kind of hira mandi shit they used to say

But when it comes to thier needs and when they need help we are out there ready to accept with open arms

I don't know man, I don't think people will get it unless A- they interacted with them overseas B- god forbid they came out as Punjabis

Pakistanis in Pakistan didn't experience this racism that's why they're calling them brothers, Indian propoganda etc

I don't know it's kinda painful to see but I guess they're nieghbors so we have to live in peace with them

Nah don't lie where your from, who cares if they get mad. Its not something you can control. I was getting called "Punjabi ghulam" just for defending Pakistan and idgaf 😂

Yea they aren't gonna get it since Afghans are pretty small in number in Pakistan and social media wise there was no interaction before the recent wave, as the languages and mainstream culture is different.

They also camoflouge in Pakistan as they can't spew their venom that openly and the other thing is that they are in poverty.

Pakistan will probably take high skilled workers and do PR stunts like the football team. I don't think they won't get as much privileges as before. My cousin's theory maybe correct as they aren't being openly xenophobic in order to not annoy Taliban and use it as "leverage".

We'll see. There is a long road ahead after Taliban takeover.
