I don't understand why prof. said this about only US... Like EU and China doesn't do or try to do the same thing... Don't get me wrong, I hate EU and US for mucking up our country with their Gladio arm of Turkey and their coups and supporting PKK for controling Turkey but fact is fact...

What BS. You guys are too idealistic, including the ones accusing US and the ones defending it.

Realities:

Truth 1 - Yes there's no denying they went to numerous wars directly or covertly to steal resources.

Truth 2 - Natural Selection 101: steal resources, get rich and thrive. Everyone's ancestors at some point had to STEAL land (there's always some justification) from others and settle in the newly conquered lands. Those who didn't were inferior races and such races perish (as "indigenous people" always have).

All superpowers have done either that or have had enough natural resources for themselves. UK did it, Portugal did it in 1600s, Spain did it, France did it, USA did it while Soviet Union itself was resource rich enough and today China is doing it.

There are just no other options. Either you:

- have enough resources to become a superpower.
OR
- take it from those who don't know how to use them.

Hmm, US is better than this. They 'rob' instead of 'steal'. They need extra resource for their ridiculous life style. In almost evary office buildings, you can totally wear sweaters during summer and shorts in winter
