If BD wants to become another Pakistan it should by all means rely on US weaponry. Just keep in mind you will need US spares for maintaining US weapons.

Many countries operate american hardware without becoming "Pakistan". The issue is not outside Pakistan, it is inside Pakistan.

To buy off Bangladesh from potential Chinese influence in military sales, economic cooperation, security agreement, etc. Basically, use free military equipment (of course older going-to-the-junkyard but still new to poor Asian nations) to sign military agreement for base uses, exercise agreements, security cooperation just to wand off potential Chinese influences,

I think india would support Bangladesh in this honestly. Why would we stop you buying American weapons? We would have a problem with Chinese weapons or Pakistani weapons, but this isn’t that.

India and Bangladesh works together on most things and our two nations are only growing closer with each passing day. Efforts have been ongoing to improve interoperability between Indian and Bangladeshi armed forces. This would only complement those efforts.

India cannot even protect itself, let alone another country like BD.

Rather than disparage BD you may like to ask yourself how Pakistan seems to alternate between love of China and that of US?

Better to worry about the state of your own country rather than BD.

Bold part: Most of our people would dislike things like a liaison with the IA. But, you are telling about interoperability which cannot be attained. At least, the weapons system must be compatible.

And there are hundred other things that also include codes and signaling systems that must be compatible. Tens of joint exercises are needed every year to make it happen. So, I do not think interoperability may not be feasible.

But, now, the USA is luring BD to support the AA Rakhine troops on a larger scale without fearing MM onslaughts. America wants to supply weapons. BD is helping AA and you can see it by the MM reaction. AA guerrillas are given shelter in Bandarban.
