Who will win

  • Total voters
    76
  • Poll closed .
IMHO I think Trump will win. His base is a solid 40% and there are people that like his transactional politics. If Biden and the democrats win, they should really go back over the next 2 years and rebuild their support through infrastructure projects (supplied by American steel from Ohio and Pennsylvania) and jobs training centers in the areas where Trump was strongest. The democrats are not seen as the party of the working man and more the party of minorities and the elites. They need to rebuild their working class bondafides

Also if Biden wins he has the benefit of hindsight and what damage full lockdowns caused. Smart limited lockdowns with contract tracking as well as a huge ramp up in free quicker Covid testing is crucial to not end up like Europe looking at months of full lockdowns again, regardless of who wins.

China is hoping Trump wins. They call him “Nation-Building Trump” because his chaos is what they think will cause American decline and speed up the building of their nation. The world is looking at America think it is run by Banana-Republicans.

Trump doesn't have to win the general vote, just needs to win enough in the swing states where his base is very strong. I think Trump will win again. I don't trust the polls.

It's too late. The Democratic party has become entrenched in identity politics and is firmly under the control of neoliberal bankers.

Overall a great post!

I think often the 'outsiders' have the best insights about their host country. I know this because, around me, there is a bitter divide in my circle on either side and I may have alienated decades-old friends by just voting Trump. My rejoinder to them has been: I am a Pakistani-American who has his own experiences and perspectives and I am not going to ( no-longer) follow a blind party line and vote Democrats after almost three decades of blind Democratic Party support.

My worldview is not Pakistan centric nor is America centric--it is more World-Centric, if I may use such grandiose terms, though I have a certain bias in favor of Pakistan, being the country of my upbringing. But I also believe the United States, under the 'right' leadership, can be and probably will be the greatest force for the positive change in the world. And for that change we must strive for...

Identity politics is the easiest way for them to win votes. They are counting on “2042”, when America becomes minority majority, and they think if they can holding on to the minority vote, especially among Latinos, and keep a modest amount of white voters they will never lose an election ever again.

If Republicans can convince especially Latinos to stick to their values of Family, God, and hard work, they won’t give in to democrats high taxes for social services. Democrats need to counter by making sure taxes go towards infrastructure and more union jobs. Unions back democrats actively. That is why Texas is the state to watch.

If the Texas model of low taxes and good jobs stays republican, even when it’s Latino majority will be a silver lining for Republicans, in the event they lose national and multi-state races.

If the democrats take the presidency and take the senate while holding onto the house, they could pass a multi-trillion dollar infrastructure and jobs training bill (after they ... cough cough... raise taxes) because they will have a two years and a blank check.

There are 50 shovel ready projects that were proposed to the Trump administration when they came to office but never acted upon. Had they done so this election would have been easily in the bag for Trump. With the economic downturn and commodities prices being suppressed, this is the best time to build infrastructure .

whomever wins definitely need to build the following 50 projects at a relatively modest $137.5 Billion dollars, it will employ over 435,000 people, either directly or indirectly, and address the most crucial infrastructure demands of the nation.

If Trump wins he needs to get on Infrastructure on day 1. The Republicans will try to do Public-Private partnerships to keep taxes low. The burden of profit making will be on the private companies. Secondly he has to enforce regulations to minimize these forest fires out west. That alone will cut back on so much of the carbon emissions democrats keep going on and on about.

It’s not only good for the nation, it’s a good way to win over voters for the next couple of election cycles in 2022 and 2024.

The person who lead the task force, Daniel Slane, that came up with this list talks about it in the following video at 3:00

Trump will win and it will be a landslide. I expect more of this:

Outsiders know how special America really is. One need only ask the Cubans in Miami that fled socialism, or the people who lived in Eastern Europe.

If you don’t mind me asking, where about a in the country are you, which state?

South Carolina. Deep South! And in rural area.
But my circle is about evenly split between Liberals and Conservatives. And my vote has been a shock to either side. The Conservatives have found out and they are very pleased to see this Liberal finally budged. But I have been clear that a lot of their views are not in aligned with mine. Very few Liberal friends have found out so far and so far their reaction is critical. But, pretty soon, the gossip will be about how sold my soul. I don't care!

What issues would you say swayed you most of all? I know Trump’s bark is worst then his bite, but his xenophobic rhetoric has encouraged a lot of militant right wing people, domestically as well as internationally. Do you think he may tone down the rhetoric after he wins, to focus on finding ways to amicably address domestic issues, such as the platinum plan for the Black community?

This is what I wrote to the NY Times Comments section today:

" I just voted for Trump!! After consistently rooting for Democrats since Bill Clinton in 1992 I just decided to vote for, what I used to call, the 'Dark Side'. And here's my reasoning: The recent lootings and rioting were bad enough. But I found more than two of my my liberal friends justifying such acts. Then I saw the video of Senator Rand Paul harassed by a mob in his own state. Then I noticed muted rejections by the Democratic leadership of the rioters. Though they were limited observations I started to look into what the 'Dark Side' had to say. To me they were all Xenophobic Rich White People. Perhaps as a person of color that was my automatic judgement and may be that is a valid judgement on my part to some extent. But I also began to realize that Democrats are too much into the Vote Bank Politics, and into Entitlements, into fear mongering themselves. Some of the fear mongering is unfounded: As a person of color myself, I don't feel threatened by the cops. At worst, in some late night country bars, there have been some rare frictions with Bubba Six Packs but that's not the whole of America! Not in my 3 decades long experience here!! I will wrap up this rambling post by saying that America needs healing. And that this elections is as pivotal as the ones in 1840 and 1932 and that there is healing after this. A victory for Biden will not upset me but a victory for Trump will please me some. "

SC is the most Racist State and will never go for Democrats. Lindsay Graham a friend of Pakistan will Win again. NC is a state which will go to Trump with a very thin margin. So all will come to PA and NC in the end. I still think FL GA TX and AZ will go to Trump. AZ might have a chance to surprise Trump. Both candidates must be praying for PA that there voters turned out and give them PA. Counting can go till Friday due to mail in ballots.
I decided to sit down for this election. Long time Republican but can't vote for Trump. Never like Democrats policy of higher Taxes and making USA more like a welfare state. Also don't like Biden choice of Kamala. There were better choices which he should have chosen.

Dow will go up either win. Reason behind is that all that uncertainty will be gone after Final results. It will go Up for few days then will go down once Covid 19 reality sync in.

Democrats let their base go too far left, looked the other way when anarchy arose, and it has scared a lot of otherwise blue collar people to forget their economic interests and side with their safety. Democrats could have passed legislation to increase oversight on the police and root out as apples, but they have let the country fall apart for the sake of politics. One needs only go to San Francisco, what should have been a model city for democrats, and see how the city has gone down the tubes.

I have been going to California every few years, and it looks nearly hopeless for a middle class person to lead a decent life there.

They are too afraid to anger their base, that they are letting the following happen:

There is always a lesser evil and there is still time to vote! Vote the Green Party if nothing else!

SC is no more racist than other places. In the South, the racism is more obvious which the Northerners try to hide. But in bigger cities ANYWHERE no one has the time to care.
