United Kingdom's Daughters - An Indian's Response to BBC Documentary

For the past few days the topic of discussion was the documentary India's Daughter by BBC over the rape of Nirbhaya in Delhi.

Many people have questioned the moralistic attitude of BBC for preaching India when the rape problem in UK is also very bad

Now an Indian has made a response video for the same

UK ranked 5th only after India which is at 4th . Sweden 3rd US tops them all with 1 St rank in number of rapes. But the problem is when we compare the population of India and all these less populated countries . What is the population of UK ? Still ranked 5th isn't it . BBC is known for its hypocrisy . Also, once reported, there's a sure chance the victim will receive justice in developed countries. Compare that to developing countries where the victims risk getting killed by their own families or the perpetrators if they try to seek justice.

Even with such a good justice system (compared to developing countries), these developed countries keep working to improve their systems still. On the other hand, developing countries are stuck with what ever they are stuck with and have no real intentions of improving conditions, rather they fight against any such thing as seen in this case (banning the documentary, making silly excuses, etc).

That's the difference. Feel free to close your eyes to it.

There are many cases like the one I have posted above The same law denied justice to many young girls too . And guess what it's not in India . IT'S THE CASE FROM UK AND THE GIRL COMMITTED SUCIDE WAS A BRITISH CITIZEN.

Who said other developing countries like India will be happy with crimes like rapes ? Is it even profitable for the nation ? Your view is very bizarre . Changes takes place in all the countries . That too largest democracy like INDIA changes are every day part of our life.

If you are looking to judge a nation of 1.2 billion with few Basturds who indulge in criminal offence then I must saw worst criminals are very common in Europe's and US. Especially in UK where small girl kids are been raped by Muslim Gangs for several decades . But the government is afraid to expose it . So it won't spoil their image. The same Govt want to brand other countries making a hero out of a rapist from India ? By paying 40000 rs in cash to be more open about his bulshit thoughts ? Why don't we have Channel 4 programme for every rapist , sex offenders criminals point of view of programmes in UK ?

These western guys are some sort of Bickering neighbours. They know they are so little in size so the want to have this problems going in countries like China and India. But end of the day . They are no match for both China and India on one on one war at current situation. Asians should know this fact and come together like European Union. But China won't allow it . So India will take on these midgets by all her self.

Not saying that no cases go unreported in India. But if some cases go unreported in India, there are similar chances of cases going unreported even in developed countries. How can you simply say that the number of unreported cases in India is higher than in other countries? How can you quantify those numbers -- unless your views are based on any statistical study?

One of the reasons why some cases might go unreported is because of the low conviction rates! But in India, the conviction rates are higher than those 'developed countries'!

Also, once reported, there's a sure chance the victim will receive justice in developed countries.

WRONG again! The conviction rates for rapists in India is much higher that UK/US/Sweden (aka 'developed countries')! The conviction rates in India is 26% while it is less than 10% in the 'developed country' UK! It is mainly due to the relentless public pressure and general consensus in the judiciary to expedite any rapes - especially those involving extreme violence (like the Delhi case).

Compare that to developing countries where the victims risk getting killed by their own families or the perpetrators if they try to seek justice.

This is a law & order problem. But then again, even the rapists face mob-justice unlike in those developed countries. Just read what happened in Nagaland last week! So how is this even an argument?

If the developed countries with all the capable police and good justice system, still register much higher rape cases per capita (heck, USA has far higher number of rapes than India even with only 1/4 of India's population!). What does that tell you?

I haven't come across a single Indian denying this menace plaguing India. If somebody is closing his eyes and fails to see this problem in context, it is you and your ilk!

This nonsense has to stop. India has to recognize that there is a problem in India. There is no need to compare India to UK. Indians have become so defensive regarding this documentary that we have become a laughing stock around the world. This is false prestige.

In this digital age banning will not work. If you like it... watch it...if you don't...don't watch it.
