UNHRC: Palestinian "armed groups continuously violated international law"

In 1947, the United Nations partitioned Historic Palestine.
giving 55% to the Jewish population and 45% to the Palestinian population. The indigenous Palestinians rejected the division of the land on which they had lived and farmed for centuries.

At the time of partition, the Jewish population owned less than 6% of Palestine.

The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 stated in 2007:

"Israel remains an occupying Power in respect of Gaza. Arguments that Israel ceased its occupation of Gaza in 2005 following the evacuation of its settlements and the withdrawal of its troops take no account of the fact that Israel retains effective control over Gaza by means of its control over Gaza’s external borders, airspace, territorial waters, population registry, tax revenues and governmental functions. The effectiveness of this control is emphasized by regular military incursions and rocket attacks."

We have Israeli guests on the forum here. What's their view on Camp David type agreement? Isn't that the closest the 2 got to peace?

UN: PALESTINIAN MILITANTS LIKELY KILLED GAZA BABY

Mar. 11 10:31 AM EDT

Home » Hamas » UN: Palestinian militants likely killed Gaza baby

JERUSALEM (AP) — A U.N. report indicates an errant Palestinian rocket, not an Israeli airstrike, likely killed the baby of a BBC reporter during fighting in the Hamas-ruled territory last November.

The death of Omar al-Masharawi, the 11-month-old son of BBC stringer Jihad al-Masharawi, became a symbol of what Palestinians see as Israeli aggression during eight days of fighting that killed more than 160 Palestinians and six Israelis. A woman was killed alongside the baby.

Israel launched hundreds of airstrikes to stop Palestinian rocket salvos.

The U.N. office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights said in a March 6 report that the incident was caused by "what appeared to be a Palestinian rocket that fell short of Israel."

Hamas had no response Monday. BBC officials were not immediately available for comment.

Hey Cohen

How many babies were killed in Jenin camp? Or in Lebanon in 2006?

As AZ helpfully points out, there is such a long succession of anti-Zionist propaganda that it will take more than one honest one to set things aright: you guys have been snowed. Many of you react by staying silent rather than cheer on the Jew-killers; but by doing so you still allow purveyors of lies to make their stand and weave their distortions in your own society, thus reducing justice first to ineffectiveness, then mockery. Because all these distortions had to be made to support the anti-Zionists and once that thinking is in your head why should a militant think about the distant Israelis when he can profit by denouncing or attacking "Zionists" and their purported allies closer to home?

So you have to go whole-hog and dismantle the anti-Zionist structure and promote Israel yourselves. That way you promote the entire set of values that support civil society over religious faction and murder.

Now which Pakistani is going to earn the merit of history and take the first step?

Sorry. Lost you there.

Maybe I was too quick to put you on the defensive
