Wow, this one's a shocker for me, as the UN Human Rights Council is better known for bashing Israel's military activity while paying little attention to what actually prompts it.

ere is the concluding paragraph of the U.N.'s advanced report on last fall's Operation Pillar of Defense, the eight-day operation Israel launched to reduce Hamas' ability to launch rocket attacks after dozens of these had rained down on Israel:

Palestinian armed groups continuously violated international humanitarian law, by launching indiscriminate attacks on Israel and by attacking civilians, thereby disregarding the principle of distinction. The armed groups failed to take all feasible precautions in attacks, in particular by launching rockets from populated areas, which put the population at grave risk. Furthermore, several Palestinians were killed by rockets launched by the armed groups that fell short and landed in the Gaza Strip. In addition, seven alleged collaborators held in DFA detention facilities were summarily executed, constituting a violation of their right to life and of international humanitarian law. link

Part A of the report does discuss Israel's actions. Of the roughly one hundred Arabs killed in the operation the reports cites a total of seven that Israel allegedly killed by mistake, not including two armed Arab boys who were killed while supposedly hunting birds, not Jews. The UNHRC claims other times civilians were killed by Israel were incidental to Israel hitting military leaders and targets, save for nine killed in four cases where the UNHRC failed to discern a military motive. While detailing civilian facilities that were hit the report acknowledges that civilian facilities used for military purposes lose their civilian character. The report does not claim that Israel launched ANY "indiscriminate" attacks. The UNHRC does bash Israel for failing the "proportionality" test without detailing what the limits of "proportionality" might be.

All in all, pretty good shooting by the IDF.

Oh, and that baby that was killed in the photograph used for propaganda? The report says a Hamas rocket apparently killed him, but didn't provide details.

As discussed several times before, these maps conflate state lands and ignore Arab-owned lands in Israel, the 1967 Sinai and Golan conquests, and the fate of Jewish-owned land in the middle east outside Israel to propagate the "Jews are the victimizers" distortion. I note the 2010 map omits Israel's 2005 withdrawal from Gaza.

Perhaps you want to consider switching sides, mohsen. After all, the Iranians of pre-mullah Iran had no beef with Israel and the Shah was an active supporter.

you are answering yourself: Arab-owned lands in Israel.
Iranian have always been against cruelty and injustice, and we kicked your beloved dictator out of Iran in a way that It's painful memories will always remain in US and Israel politicians.

I didn't ask a question. But to make sure readers understand: Arabs who remained in Israel after 1947 kept their property, save for some seized for military purposes (in which case they received compensation).

I doubt Israel had nearly as much to do with keeping the Shah in power as the U.S., and everybody knows the same cruel SAVAK gang remained at their jobs after the mullahs took over.

As for "pain to U.S. politicians": it's forgotten that many of these wanted the Shah out, too, and hoped Khomeini might be an improvement.

what about those refused it? burnt farms and gardens, executions, jails. this is the fate of Palestinian farmers since 1947.Israel has announced several times that they won't return to 1967 lines which obviously shows extra land they have occupied.
even in the palestinian territories Israel follows the same policy of burning and destroying farms and cutting water sources to force farmers leave their land.

SAVAK members were all trained in Israel, and after revolution they faced long term jails or executions. rest of them escaped to US the same why you are planing to accept mujahedine-e-khalgh terrorist group.

what a joke.:omghaha:.US never wants any religious in power in any country, specially Islam and shia which has strong politics view, that's why once a while one of it's cyber warriors put an article against our supreme leader in the forum.

Do you comfort yourself by imagining Israel to be a mirror image of the mullahs' Iran - and thus that Israel is no better example to the world than the mullahs are, so you need feel no shame in serving them?

.
the shame goes for those who have created Israel to control ME oil resources. those who support mujahedin-e-khalgh terrorist group. those who armed ex-Iraqi dictator 'Saddam' with chemical weapons. those who has created Al-qaede and supporting it in syria.

I'm copying this statement now, lest you or the mods edit or wipe your post. This way I have my own record of your inanity that I can quote to discredit you in the future.

.
Why do Arabs want 1967 border when they don't believe in existence of Israel.

You are fighting a nonsense propaganda war.
There is no such thing as 1967 Borders - it was a cease fire line.

In any case Israel is a better example to follow than Khomenist Iran!

I confer upon you the Press TV Award 2012!

Your supreme joker is not worth the time and efforts to put an article my dear friend!

We make fun of him but mohsen did succeed in diverting us from the matter at hand. The mullahs' ally and by proxy Iran itself has been severely castigated by this report. What, if any, responses should the world make to their unjustifiable conduct based on this report?
