Kohli or Sachin but Raul dravid was my Favorite Batsman from Indian side .... i like his playing technique .

Sachin was a selfish player.. He was never a match winner... He used to play for his own runs..and then get out... I hardly saw him ever to win match for india alone, under pressure... In tht respect.. I rate Inzimam much higher than Sachin... Though nowhere close to records of Sachin, i think Inzi won more matches for Pakistan singlehandedly than Sachin for India.... Virat kohli is a match winner... He wins matches singlehandedly

Every player is assigned some roles. Sachin was India's Run machine. Played opening or third man. He is not the match winner. If Sachin was a selfish player Indian's will never love him. He is a humble person. He never looses his temper. He might have issues handling stress, but who cares. Nobody is perfect.

You are right, test cricket and batsman ship in particular isn't always about always playing attacking cricket but often about a rather boring to viewer aspect of grinding out sessions and blunting attacks. As David Gower once said, a successful test batsman is often made on soundness of his defence and here batsman like Dravid, Mohammad Yousuf, Kallis were actually effective on any wicket because they could defend their wicket for long durations.
Unfortunately in this era of slam Baam 120 ball circus, not many young batsman seem to have a correct defensive technique.
