They say that the goblins * third world countries * do not run win in the wizard's * superpowers * war and well they are right . The Crown is responsible for most of the problems of the world today , though not this one specifically .

At least he speaks....I was starting to wonder has he taken a under long rest after his speech on 15th August?
Still we will see US attacking Syria with France and others helping though the world will really criticize them because of the economic crises it may create but who will take action against them will be interesting to see.

this again shows Singh is just a wanker.

india has absolutly no say in Syria, how many troops india has in the region? how much indians can spend in this crysis given the rupee crashed recently?

the whole crap is the result of the crashed indian economy - Singh is taking this touch stand on Syria to shift the domestic concerns on its own economy. one day loser, always loser.

however, that being said, we Chinese all love Singh, he is THE PM that screwed india. we need more such indian officials to further damage india.

PLEASE VOTE his party again, we need such pro-China PM.

News coming from US already says US Congress is strongly in favor of attack even if it means getting isolated.

This statement is totally false. Where is your source for this pronouncement? The opposite is true.

Looks like a few of NATO countries alone are in support of unilateral strike against Syria. News coming from US already says US Congress is strongly in favor of attack even if it means getting isolated.
As for India, the impact that will come on economy as a result of strike seems to be over-riding criteria more than anything else at this moment. GoI would ideally want no strike as even the fears of it have put markets in jittery.

Sir, the statement is based on the news being telecasted in Indian media which i saw on Thursday. as per the sources quoted, President Obama is said to have complete support of US congress on issue of military strike.

That said, request u to tell what the general mood in US is about what now look like imminent strikes. Is the general public in favor of such an action?

This is on expected lines and as i said above not many countries want such a conflict now. Any strike however limited is going to impact Crude prices and wih most Emerging markets economies in a bit of trouble and currencies depreciating, nobody would want another shock coming in form of oil bill shooting up. Atleast that is the feeling here in India.

The general US public is opposed to USA strikes on Syria in something like the following numbers: 60% opposed, 20% in favor and 20% "don't know". The US Congress is receiving letters, calls and e-mails from constituents that are on the order of 90% opposed, 10% in favor. The latest tally of US House of Representatives sentiment finds 50% opposes, 10 % in favor and the balance undecided. I haven't seen a poll of US Senators on the question yet.

Leading conservative group opposes Obama Syria resolution

By Seth McLaughlin - The Washington TimesSeptember 6, 2013, 10:34AM
\
An influential conservative group is pressuring lawmakers to vote against a resolution authorizing President Obama to take military action against Syrian President Bashar Assad to punish him for his reported use of chemical weapons.

Freedomworks officials announced Friday that they will score the vote on the resolution against lawmakers, saying that if members of Congress ignore the will of the people and support a strike they will being doing so “at their own peril.”

“When they convene, Congress will consider short-term actions,” said Matt Kibbe, the group’s president. “They should also reflect upon long-term costs associated with those actions. There is no guarantee that ‘limited’ military operations in Syria will lead to a ‘limited’ result. The costs of brinksmanship in an ongoing civil war are steep, and a collapse of state would fall in our laps. In other words, if we break it, we buy it.”

President Obama is trying to rally support in Congress for a limited strike. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee passed a resolution this week on a 10-7 vote that would give Mr. Obama 90 days to carry out a limited strike and push for him to offer more support to the rebel forces fighting against the Assad regime.
