Unemployment in India is lowest in Gujarat, says report

Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Narendra Modi today welcomed Chandigarh Labour Bureau's latest report stating Gujarat has lowest unemployment rate among all states across the country.

"Delighted! Gujarat has the least unemployment rate amongst all the states in the country and the national average," Mr Modi tweeted.

"While India's jobless rate stood at 3.8 per cent during the last fiscal, Gujarat showed lowest rate of one per cent," he said.

The report also states that Gujarat has a very low unemployment rate among females in urban areas.

The Chandigarh Labour Bureau is an apex organisation for providing data base at the national level for research and policy formation.

to some extent i agree with you...{You know atleast 60% of Mid size Motels and hotel properties all over US are owned by people of Indians origin..Of this nearly 1/3 have the surname Patel.....}

You can't compare GDP directly because Guangdong is the most populated province in China, with a much larger population than Gujarat. (Guangdong also happens have the biggest economy in all of China).

In terms of development speed, Gujarat is miles of the rest and should be able to compete directly with Tier-1 Chinese cities very soon, considering how successful Modi's policies have been.

Yes thats true to some extent actaully gujaratis n marwadis r born businessmen its kind of in there blood
Due to long business tradition in families they get business skill in early age itself

Thats why u'll see no matter where a gujarati lives he will find something to do business

But yes if u ask me about the state of gujarat then i'll have to give the due credit to Mr.Modi as its bcoz of his positive policies u see gujarat progressing at such grt pace
