Instead of hitting bullseyes start posting some threads that are sensible and can start a debate based on that.

Keep the bulls-eyes for fantasy fiction writing forums..

And i know enough that it wasn't a government press meet but a proposal made by army chief briefing the government about readiness.

We in our country, the armed forces has to report to the government as it is controlled by the peoples representatives in the government and not the other way around with military dictators coming to rule here and then occasionally.

At the end of 1986, India granted statehood to Arunachal Pradesh, which is an area claimed by China but administered by India. The Chinese government proceeded to protest. But the military movements in Tawang, taken in conjunction with this political action were seen as a provocation by the Chinese. In early 1987 Beijing's tone became similar to that of 1962, and with the Indian Army refusing to stand down, Western diplomats predicted war.
The Indian response to the Chinese buildup was Operation Falcon and involved movements across the Sino-Indian border. Among the more interesting deployments, using Mi-26 heavy lift helicopters, was that of Infantry Combat Vehicles (ICVs)and some armour in North Sikkim in the east and Demchok in the west. These two were viewed as particularly threatening by the PLA because they seemed to indicate that India had moved from a strategy of defence in its own territory to that of a larger offensive involving all of Arunachal Pradesh.
The result was a thaw. Indian Foreign Minister N.D. Tiwari arrived in Beijing in May 1987 en route to Pyongyang, North Korea. He carried with him messages from Indian leaders that there was no intention on New Delhi's part to aggravate the situation. The first formal flag meeting to discuss “ the freezing of the situation” since 1962, was held on the fifth of August 1987 at Bum La in the aftermath of the Wangdung affair. Both sides decided to take up talks with renewed urgency and the following year, Rajiv Gandhi visited Beijing, returning Zhou Enlai's '60s visit.

duds being a debater i will say its a good opening statement frm the first speaker and deserves better counter then Indian BS any way argument doesn't stop there
cold start is a good concept but do u really think that indian military will smoothly destroy entire pak defence and end the war ..on thing u shuld know that heighly complicated plans like these always have huge flaws..
lts say a huge amount of fast moving offensive is heading towards our border ..well pak army is not blind to let this huge mass advance on the border ...being a defensive nation we always anticipate huge attacks and are always prepared to hold them off at a stand off distance big guns guided un guided rockets and minor op engagement to damage infantry and Armour of enemy ll always be prepared its just like saying a 'pin prick to the hart ' ...this fast moving mass ll have to stop due to minor defence ...ok lts talk about close air support well artillery mortar and rocket are the primary defence against advancing enemy to counter this CLOSE air support is needed and ll we have these sites protected extensively with medium to very low air defence and targeting these positions frm grater heights is very difficult ....now i have given counter to ur great cold start without using Armour ,air force or even infantry .. infantery...
