India had peace with China for millennia when China had Buddhism. India started having issues as soon as communists took the long march. Hope Buddhists would make a comeback in China.

India have thousands peace with China when Muslim rule India but when Hindu rule India, we have much trouble with it even if Buddhism come back in China, it will make no difference...

So, Islam which follows a somewhat collective group with a common ideology is one of their fears. The love for Pakistan for China can be viewed as having many benefits, they have a hold on one of the most powerful nation in Islamic world. A founding member of OIC, they can persecute their muslim minority without any serious repercussions from the Islamic world. Remember the Turks were the only one who voiced against the persecution.

It is an indisputable fact that they rule their Xinjiang region with an iron fist and that young men aren't allowed to grow the islamic style stacheless big beard, the niqab/burka full body thing is banned, they can't even name their kids 'muhammad', their passports confiscated around ramadan so the uighur can't travel..

But we don't have problem with Pakistan nor central Asia countries, they hate terrorism as much as we do, but we have much more issues with India. Ironically when Muslim rules India, we both live in peace.

I am not sure how creditable this news is, even if it is true it was not for religious reasons as some Indian members suggested. Most likely these buildings violated the local building permit law or building codes. Chinese has been demolished many illegal Christian churches and Buddhist temples as well, for that matter, many illegal buildings. They even demolished a statue of Mao, because it was built by private parties without a building permission:

@Kaaptan I am hoping our interaction with China knocks some sense into us although thanks to Afghanistan and Saudis we have really left the ummah shores. Hopefully one day we can be more like turkey in our thoughts. They are not a bad blend.
