The news is nothing new. The link existed even in 1990s when Maoist from Andhra visited ULFA. And they could not do much for more than 15 years. Now ULFA has lost much of its strength, thanks to Bhutan and Prime Minister Hasina.

Except for Paresh Barua, others were released on bail to facilitate the talks with the government. As for Paresh Barua, he can sit in China or Myanmar for all he wants but he is now a teethless lion.

Now M from assam, a local guy, there is still little support running in assam for ULFA. But common people are fed up of these terrorism or so called freedom fights. All the major leaders of ULFA are back to peace talks, Maybe Paresh Baruah is still out there just to ensure back roots in case talks fails or u can say he just want to strengthen the bargain. Assam has other problems to solve like constant increasing illegal imigration of bangladeshis, solving the flood problem etc.
So ULFA back in picture, maybe , but like old times, no chance.
