UKRAINIAN DEFENCE COMPLEX CAN ADOPT NATO STANDARDS IN THREE YEARS

UKROBORONPROM enterprises will start transition to NATO standards in weaponry production. With this in mind, UKROBORONPROM specialists - together with representatives of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and NATO - developed a "road map of standardization system reforming in defence sphere for 2015-2018."
The corresponding document was the result of "NATO-Ukraine cooperation on policy standardization” seminar on March 31 and was held within the NATO-Ukraine Logistics and Standardization Trust Fund, with Alliance experts.
NATO Advisor on logistics and standardization Col. Miroslav Pelikan took part in the seminar, as well as representatives of Poland and Czech Republic. Ukrainian side was represented by specialists of Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ministry of Defence, central executive authorities and SH UKROBORONPROM.
During the seminar, representatives of Czech Republic and Poland shared their experience of transition from Soviet to international standards in defence sphere.
With the assistance of Ukraine-NATO Trust Fund, “Road map” provides training for UKROBORONPROM, General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence specialists on standardization. Mechanism for providing assistance in implementation of modern mechanisms for defense products lifecycle management and building conformity assessment of products systems, is described in the “Road map.”
