Ukraine plans to nationalize a prominent aerospace manufacturer and cancel its acquisition by China, after the U.S. opposed the deal to keep critical defense technology out of Beijing’s hands.

The Ukrainian government’s national security council last week announced the decision on Motor Sich, a maker of advanced engines. The decision angered China, which demanded Ukraine respect the rights of Chinese investors, and the plans still must pass the Ukrainian legislature and could face legal challenges from the spurned Chinese suitors.

If carried out, the state takeover would end more than three years of wrangling that had placed the company and Ukraine in an expanding confrontation between Washington and Beijing.
It could also salve relations between the Biden administration and Ukraine, after the government became embroiled in U.S. domestic politics duringDonald Trump’s presidency, weakening support for the country in Washington.
The nationalization of Motor Sich shows that Ukraine “stands with the U.S. even at considerable cost,” said Anders Aslund, a Swedish economist and senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, a think tank in Washington. “This was an excellent step that the U.S. should greatly appreciate.”

.
totalitarian Soviet Ukraine allies with other totalitarian societies to defraud investors.

.
China don't need Ukrainian engines. China makes better engines than they can. China already builds engines better than Ukrainians ever can.

Majority of the Chinese tech you see these days are due to unemployment scientists and enginears after the breakup of USSR.

When "The city upon the hill" has to play dirty to keep competitors down, you know they are not what they used to be.

Dude each country follows its own path , china did what it felt was the best option for them

Can you substantiate your claim? Here is what you said: " Majority of the Chinese tech you see these days are due to unemployment scientists and enginears after the breakup of USSR".

United States action today will one day come back and curse them.

Quote
But since Ukraine’s pro-Russian president, Viktor Yanukovych, was removed from power in 2014, the state-owned factory, known as Yuzhmash, has fallen on hard times. The Russians canceled upgrades of their nuclear fleet. The factory is underused, awash in unpaid bills and low morale. Experts believe it is the most likely source of the engines that in July powered the two ICBM tests, which were the first to suggest that North Korea has the range, if not necessarily the accuracy or warhead technology, to threaten American cities.

“It’s likely that these engines came from Ukraine — probably illicitly,” Mr. Elleman said in an interview. “The big question is how many they have and whether the Ukrainians are helping them now. I’m very worried.”

Watch the video. Its really sad.

And how do you think US built their state of art weapons and industrial complex, immigrants who moved to US helped built them, even the engines used in F-35 are designed by a Bangladeshi scientists.

Unless USA signed an agreement to purchase at least 1000 Motor Sich Aero-engines, it is only heading one way - bankruptcy.

Its has only 2 main customers -
Russian Federation and China.
Now both these nations do not import anything from Motor Sich any more.

National Security???
is China a threat to Ukraine?

Ukraine has always been weak in technology, even when it was part of USSR. Ukraine can't even make a single fighter jet engine.
