UK Hotel Complains Air India Staff Taking Away Food Stuffed In Boxes

No one gives a fcuk about what you think.

As the world dynamics changes, the world better start adapting to Indian standards. If they have a problem with Indian customers then they better start serving pigs and lizards to chinese customers.

They are nobody to label us anything. They will bend over to kiss the first @ss that shows them the colour of money.

The hotels is trying to save "petty cash" and increase profits by telling their customers no to eat food so that they can show a higher profit.

You make it sound like they are doing charity

He is actually right, we Indians must adopt supreme Chinese cultured "locust" approach when it comes to buffets

.
yes, they have option to cancel the contract, or renegotiate or suck it up... sending a letter(email) to the company is the first step..
Air India did not need to openly say it although it would be difficult to keep it private once you inform all those people, it was bound to come in the open.
Not everything written in rules everywhere, there are a convention, unwritten rules that govern the world. Next time you stay in a hotel, sh*t in the garden coz nobody wrote rule against it.. lol

No, Indians cant possibly dictate the standards, nor can the hotel, its a business transaction, both side need to figure that out. Air India of course thought its better to warn their staff than to take custom elsewhere, because they understand what is reasonable.
the fact that some need to be explained general rules and manners indicate how uncivilized brutes Indians are...

If the hotel I stay do not have proper plumbing or decent toilet after charging me for it, I will damn well $hit in their garden. LOL at their "rules and non-rules".

Indian customers WILL dictate our standards and expectations and they as service providers bloody well say "yes sir".
What Air India did is their internal matter, probably they found it easier to ask their staff than take the effort to reply back to the hotel and renegotiate the contract.

The fact that the hotel is whining about how much food was being eaten indicates what uncivilised brute the british are ......

So just because I pay for a candy bar at an Indian Walmart means that I'm entitled to the whole store. Is that how business is conducted in India?

Make sure you pay for the candy bar at an Indian walmart. Chinese are notorious for being thieves, hackers and copycats with no ethics or morality. You are aiming too high.

U make it sound like it's the norm rather than the exception that food can be taken away from a buffet.

In the case of Air india, even it's own in-flight assistant manager acknowledges the negative connotations of such self-demeaning acts:

Air India finds it easier to ask their staff than bother to reply to their vendor. There is nothing "self demeaning" about taking food away when the nearest restaurant is miles away.

Only someone with low self esteem or no confidence will feel ashamed to address their own needs first and think about "what others would think". lol......... sounds familiar ?

And they did it not just once, but regularly:

So what ? looks like the hotel let them do it not just once, but regularly.

The way how some Indian members talk. I won't be surprised if they are the perverts. No wonder any smart Indians would leave India. All the top quality Indian executives are in the west. Any smart Indian would leave India, leaving behind only the undesirables.

As of 2014
The net migration rate of India is -0.05 whereas for China it -0.32

In other words the number of Chinese leaving China is over SIX times the number of Indians leaving India.

People migrating from India is obvious given India is third world developing nation not providing opportunities for some of its citizens.

But is comes as complete surprise why any Chinese would leave all the benefits provided by Godly CCP behind such as:

Historical "Great Leap" , glorious "cultural revolutions", free forced organ harvesting, free Govt supported forced womb scrapping, free forced ethnic dilution of non-hans and many more courtesy of the Chinese Govt.

Only to end in nations, where they end up becoming targeted for hate crimes:

However given then fact you living in USA are living specimen of the above case should find no difficulty in comprehending the above information.

I guess only smart Chinese remain in China given the pros and cons, while the "undesirables" considering unworthy of a place in CCP's PRC genetic pool are forced out of China to pollute and infect rest of the world with their degenerative sub-animal Han chauvinistic mindset :)

UK Hotel Complains Air India Staff Taking Away Food Stuffed In Boxes
NEWS Today, about 2 hours
Mumbai: Air India has dressed down its flight attendants following a complaint by a UK hotel that its crew members are taking away the breakfast buffet packed in their boxes.

"We have received an unfortunate email from the management of hotel in London stating that some AI crew members regularly come down for breakfast with empty boxes into which they fill food items from the buffet, presumably to eat later," said assistant general manager (AGM) of the in-flight service department.

A warning note tiled ''A buffet is not a takeaway' was issued by the AGM, which said that serious action would be taken against the offenders if repeated.

The note read, "This may include, not being scheduled on international sectors, as we have no desire to allow the reputation of Air India to be tarnished by a handful of such individuals."

Meanwhile, a cabin crew member ruled out the habit of "takeaway" stating that, "We are dead tired by then as its 14-15 hours from the time we have left home. So we just want to crash. Unlike earlier when the layover was 2 days, it's now only 26 hours and so we have to catch up on sleep before the next flight. Even so, only a couple of us would be bringing boxes to fill and eat later. Most don't do that."

The crew member further said that room service is not provided free in the said hotel discouraging people from ordering meals as the service charge is 10 pounds.

“The menu is limited to sandwiches and with such things so one is not inclined to have that lunch/dinner every time one lands there. Since the hotel is located close to Heathrow airport, one has to take the long trip to the city to have a proper meal," he said, adding, which is why a couple of crew might have started taking some food to eat later.

MUMBAI: In a rather embarrassing note, Air India has served a warning to all its flight attendants after a hotel in London complained that some cabin crew members would bring boxes to pack and take away food from the breakfast buffet table to be eaten later.

Titled, 'A buffet is not a takeaway', the warning note was sent on Monday by an assistant general manager (AGM) of the in-flight service department. It said: "We have received an unfortunate email from the management of hotel in London stating that some AI crew members regularly come down for breakfast with empty boxes into which they fill food items from the buffet, presumably to eat later."

The letter warned that AI would be forced to take serious disciplinary action against the offenders, adding that "we are aware that this could be a very small minority indulging in such a behaviour". "This may include, not being scheduled on international sectors, as we have no desire to allow the reputation of Air India to be tarnished by a handful of such individuals," the note warned.

An Air India spokesperson said: "Initially this letter appears to be fake because an AGM-grade officer is not authorised to send a circular that has pan India implications. We are investigating the issue." But cabin crew members of AI confirmed that they had received such a letter. They added that the AGM concerned was promoted to the said post only 15 days ago.

Her decision to issue a general warning to all crew hasn't gone down well. A senior cabin member, requesting anonymity, said, "There are a few rotten apples everywhere, not just among cabin crew members."

Though they decried the practice of takeaways from the buffet table, they pointed to three factors that could have got this practice going. "We land in London either at 7.30am or 6.30pm. We are dead tired by then as it's 14-15 hours from the time we have left home. So we just want to crash. Unlike earlier when the layover was 2 days, it's now only 26 hours and so we have to catch up on sleep before the next flight. Even so, only a couple of us would be bringing boxes to fill and eat later. Most don't do that," the crew member said.

"It's the worst for cabin crew who have been taken on contract as they are paid 60% less than the regular crew. The layover allowance is meagre and ranges from $600-1200 per month during which time we do at least ten layovers," he said.

Then again, room service is not provided for free in the said hotel. "It comes with a service charge of 10 pounds so as to discourage people from ordering meals in their room. So one has to dress up and go to the restaurant downstairs for a meal. The menu is limited to sandwiches and such things so one is not inclined to have that lunch/dinner every time one lands there. Since the hotel is located close to Heathrow airport, one has to take the long trip to the city to have a proper meal," he said adding which is why a couple of crew might have started taking some food to eat later.

If you want to find out about China, go ask Chinese members. But do it in a thread about China. This thread is about Indian air stewardess making news for taking food home from a buffet and Indians like you shamelessly justfying those behavior. Grow up and accept the truth instead of making up alternative facts for self gratification.

He is actually right, we Indians must adopt supreme Chinese cultured "locust" approach when it comes to buffets

As unsightly as the vid is, it's perfectly within the 'all you can eat buffet dinner' established norms... you just get in the buffet and gorge yourself silly on the 100's of dishes presented infront of you, preferably in a civil manner...OK:yes4:

:no:Bring bags and boxes from outside, fill them up and take them home so you can gorge on them leisurely at your house dining table ...Not So Much OK:no:

Please do not vilify me for this and learn to accept this swallow this cruel truth and bear any mental trauma associated to it.

No one expect this place to let you take boxes and boxes of food out the door with you, but food that I've touched with my fingers, possibly taken bites of, and for all they know brought to the bathroom and put up my @ss?

Why not simply let a bit of leftovers go home with customers ? If it's obvious I'm not taking home an entire plate full of fresh food, what's the point of simply throwing it away? If it appears untouched are they going to recook it for a minute to kill any germs, and simply throw it back out on the buffet table?

Not only is the hotel behaviour uncivilised, but they seem to make a virtue out of it.

You don't have to worry about that.

The chinese have made it a virtue of swallowing everything from cats and dogs to insects and authoritarian rules and discipline. Its their "high iq" in action.
