UK or any other western power will never prosecute political leaders from third world countries who have parked billions of dollars in their economy. Even if they provide the evidence, it wont be acceptable in UK courts. The money of the sharif family is safe now. All people can do is bring the change in Pakistan or their respective home country and give them a political punishment (by voting them out) for their financial crimes.
The only meaningful thing that can be extracted from all of this is to put this infront of the Pakistani public and let them decide in elections - and based on how much support SS still enjoys its not a factor.

Why was Altaf Hussain kept in Britain. His MQM had a sophisticated network of criminals and spies in Karachi. At one signal, he paralyzed the main city of Pakistan thus keeping a leash on an important country in the region. India too benefited from the power of chaos Altaf could wield.
