UBL Tower on Fire (Blue Area) Islamabad - Fire Fighters in Action!

Thanks... HASHO Group (Marriot Hotel) floors on fire again!

All those records of finances destroyed, all deeds of multiple mortgage's.
Its a horrible loss I tell you.

.
Hope everyone in the building was safe. As a resident of Islamabad, I am saddened by these unfortunate incidents. My thoughts & prayers go out to Mr Hashwani & the Hasho group.

when i was in Turkiye i was working for sales/exports @ Ford's commercial vehicles department; we pushed for Ford Cargo with fire-truck outfit to be exported to Pakistan but unfortunately we lost the tender and so it was hard to justify designing a right hand drive version of the vehicle. (we ended up selling 6x2 chassis water tankers to Bangladesh to be used for UN missions)

now that i dont work there and am not biased, i'd say Pakistan made the right choice not to opt for the Ford Cargo. Mercedes Volvo & Scania are best for the firefighting role -- most of them use German-manufactured firefighting outfit + equipment and they are super reliable.

in the past, many tragedies took place and were not averted because even in the Federal Capital the fire fighting equipments was old, CDA was not investing enough -- so the older trucks would develop leaks or not have sufficient bar pressure to deal with fires at higher heights --tall buildings.

building codes that are enforced are needed......all buildings by let's say 2020 should have automatic spinkler system.

.
Actually its bit bad story but one of my serious joke with these guyz :P .. when These guyz coming btw the event.... CDA officials send them into back side of the building and when they reached back side again CDA Fire Fighters and officials told them we need 10 15 floor counter machine so you please stand aside. These guyz standing from almost 30 mins. I went near to... i said to a fire fighter can you guyz stand in front of this machine actually i am from ARY channel :P (LOLZZZ) so i will take your pictures... One of Fire fighter said

"yaar isnay red shirt pehni hey he is from ARY line say kharay hojaoo" LOLzzzz

I took these pictures and run-off :P :P because I AM NOT FROM ARY lolzzzzzzz

I am damn sure they thought our pictures will appear on the ARY TV channels :P :P

You clever boy!

.
pathetic performance by CDA fire Fighters infact all Fire fighters dept around Pakistan and why because of corrupt leaders and Fire Fighter top officials. They never buy latest equipment nor pro training put money in their pockets...because of these few **** top officials whole dept is suffering ...

. .
UBL don't have emergency exists AMAZING!

PS: If such incident will happen with Centarous (kudha na khosta) what will these fire fighters will do ??? :S they don't have capability to counter 10 - 15 floor building how they will counter Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad 30 40 floors buildings especially CENTAURUS!

The germans make the best automotives I tell you.

Scania, Mercedes, Volvo etc are the best trucks in the business.

Now,2020 should be time frame for all the buildings, old and new.

But a step should be taken that the buildings that are under development, and those that are under construction should get these.

A alarm system, that when a fire is detected, rather heat is detected, then the alarm goes off to the nearest fire station, and the station has a grid of it's area, and the affected area gets highlighted. Quick and efficient.

My relative makes these kinds of systems, and those are in the process of being matured. The E-toll systems in Islamabad toll plazas are connected by his firm.

u see the ''Volkan'' outfit on that Mercedes truck in Mr. Irfan's picture?

Volkan is a Turkish company -- i believe they based in Izmir. I sent off many trucks to Volkan in Turkiye (6x4s 6x2s) for adding the firefighting outfit + equipment. My primary market of focus was Middle East/North Africa, Eurasia market ---many of these we sent to Libya, Azerbaijan, Afghan ministry of interior...

i'm very very pleased to see Volkan outfits being used on Pakistan's fire-fighting vehicles

Indeed a good development.

I was getting confused there, that the truck was Mercedes, but the stickers of Volkan.

wat lol fire fighters posing for photographs ? instead of fighting fire ?

.
han, usually what happens is the trucks are invoiced and then sent off (via ship or by road) to the outfitters companies...in this particular case, Volkan specializes particularly on fire fighting equipment -that is their specialty. It will usually take 4-5 weeks for the work to be completed per vehicle -sometimes longer. The hardest part about the business (from my perspective) was that if customers truck developed faults (often it was due to their own f*ck ups -- the Georgians always used to cause us problems and headache) then it made us (the people working at manufacturer of the truck) bad --when in fact the defects were either due to negligence of the outfitter or negligence of the customer himself

when you're dealing with something like fire-fighting equipment --- you want to make DAMN sure it's working 100% correctly and is reliable; it's can be the difference between life and salvation versus death and tragedy.
