It amazes me that in 4 months Asad Umar and PTI are able to get all this money into Pakistan.

I remember back when zardari and Nawaz would be constantly flying to other countries and when people asked why, they would say "to brining in investments." Those two did it for 10 years, and yet no investments ever came from it.

Asad in 4 months brought in billions.

This is anything but an investment. This is a loan, and this type of a loan does not equal investment.

We got another loan and for some reason people here are happy. We will still be going to the IMF and what's worse with the US withdrawing from Afghanistan they have less reason to keep us afloat via the IMF. So conditions will be pretty tough.

investment takes time...surprisingly govt is moving fast expected signatures will happen on jan and Feb when crown prince of saudi and UAE come to Pakistan

All this borrowing has only met half our needs for the year. We will still need to borrow from commercial banks.

We will have to pay ~3% interest to the UAE for this loan. It is not free money. According to that article China lent us money at 1/3rd that rate so Ummah is proving quite expensive. If you include 10% rupee depreciation per annum we are looking at over 13% interest for the UAE and KSA loans.
