If this is true, my guess would be that these would be replacement of Mirage 3/5 for conventional land and sea, and more importantly strategic, strike roles.

If these are even being considered then they must be at bargain prices. In which case they would make a good option in the short term.
Our mirage airframes are exhausted and we don't have a replacement lined up for their role. I don't think the JF-17 fits that role entirely. Does anyone have information on the hours flown or left on the UAE mirages?
