The United Arab Emirates land forces will receive the 1750 armored vehicle from NIMR Automotive, part of Emirates Defense Industries Company (EDIC).

That was announced by NIMR Automotive at last day of IDEX 2017 defence exhibition in Abu Dhabi. NIMR will deliver 1,500 JAIS 4×4 and 6×6 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as more than 150 HAFEET 630A artillery support vehicles and 115 AJBAN 440A vehicles equipped with anti-tank guided missile systems from 2018, it said in a statement.

The vehicles will be produced at NIMR’s new 37,500 sq m facility, the largest military vehicle manufacturing facility in the Middle East and North Africa.

The JAIS Family of Vehicles brings together forty years of experience in protected optimized mobility. The JAIS is the next generation of MRAP, providing essential balance between firepower, survivability, but with mobility for modern, conventional and asymmetric operations. Crew survivability is centred around a battle-proven “crew citadel” protection system, protecting against mine, IED and ballistic threats. The JAIS vehicle architecture supports multiple mission variants and equipment options, such as a full motorised infantry section, with a manned turret or remote weapon system.

of course, but invading a country with mrap as frontlines... it's a bit too much.... Mraps and such are used for support and to consolidate a position around areas.

. .
Probably to fight insurgents/militants if the need arises.

. . .
1750 armored vehicles are the equivalent of one big infantry division with 250 logistics and support vehicles..
8 soldiers/vehicle x 1500 vehicles= 12 000 infantrymen..
