UAE funds water projects for 44 Pakistan villages

Water pumping stations handed over to provincial authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

In compliance with the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to help hundreds of thousands of Pakistanis get access to drinking water, the UAE project team tasked to help Pakistan has announced the launching of a water distribution network that will serve 44 villages.

The ceremony for the handover of the water pumping stations to provincial authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was attended by Director of the UAE project, Abdullah Khalifa Al Gafli, senior military officers and other officials and the people from the villages.

The projects were chalked out as per the directives of Shaikh Khalifa to alleviate the sufferings of the victims of the devastating flood that swept across many villages and towns in Pakistan in 2010.

It has been estimated that one third of the entire Pakistani population do not have adequate access to safe drinking water and over 46 per cent have no access to proper sanitation facilities.

The directorate of the UAE project announced that a total of 64 drinking water projects will be completed. The projects included digging of water wells, establishment of water purification stations and construction of pipelines to carry pure drinking water into around 64 villages in various provinces in Pakistan.

Officials said that the remaining 20 projects will soon be completed and handed over to local authorities

A report released by the directorate noted that the development projects focused mainly on the provision of basic needs such as clean drinking water and sanitation, in the absence of which life threatening diseases like hepatitis and malaria will spread.

The villagers who attended the ceremony expressed their gratitude to this great humanitarian initiative and raised their hands in prayer.

I think they should look towards investment as well. Like in DAMs, Power from run of river, Wind n Solar and e.t.c(Which includes oil and gas reserves in Kohat).

.
When there is no investment in infrastructure and security from Pakistan's side, expect next to nothing FDI

. .
Afghanistan and Pakistan have many things in common.

Most of Pakistan and Afghanistan infrastructure projects are mainly supported by aid and donations.

BBC News - Afghanistan aid: Donors pledge $16bn at Tokyo meeting

What?
I know you are just trolling but c'mon man. If Afghanistan and Pakistan are the same then India is in even bigger trouble because more people live in miserable conditions in India then the entire population of Pakistan and Afghanistan combined.

Oh and India is still a world recipient of Aid, so you guys are not a supa pawa yet.

. .
Here we go, the topic has move to donations to help fund infrastructure... to toilets, poverty, 50% poor blah blah.

These trolls, only know 1 way of life here.

I think you are heading to another ban.....:enjoy:

.
And what about India where more than 60% of it's populations don't have toilets?! Pakistan has many true brothers who are eager to help as Palistani didn't hesitate to help in times of need.

Another banned topic discussed and inability to stick on topic!

Forum rules coming from a professional rule breaker. You are the one who started trolling and you people are ruining this place by your no-value posts. Don't throw stones at others while your house is made of glass. This topic is about some villages in Pakistan getting water projects from a brotherly nation and you were implying they are beggars. Look at your country first! plz.

.
No come back to the Indian problem so they just report you hoping for a ban
You think reporting someone online will solve this problem?

Don't start trolling first and we will stick on topic and not troll as well...

:disagree:

Nope the link I gave and the link of the first post proves to everyone here, most of Pak and Aghan infrastructure projects are supported by donations and aid.

No need to be ashamed bro. §
