UAE backs India's bid for permanent UN Security Council seat

For some people money is everything here my friend, because of money French say no to Pakistan for Missile technology. Because of Money everyone's tongue is out like a dog to see who can take a beefed up bone for MMRCA tender. may be in not this case but yes "Money is everything" for most of the nation....etc

Money is not everything but most important thing. Why you are looking it so largely by country just for example just think When we are out of money or bankrupt how many friends and relatives comes with help. Everyone has their own interest with us. And for country it must be their interest as they have to take care about million/billion living in that country.

.
In my point of view an other THREE NATION CONCEPT must be rise in India, i mean in India now should form 3 independent states like Bangal merged with Bangladesh, Khalistan, Hindu and if it is happened this will be milestone for Pakistan.
&

then India will not seek for PM in UNSC. :azn::sniper:

Mate, 3 states based on religion?? I don't think it is ever happening or any time soon [like in 1000 years]. And where do you suggest other 126 religions in india should go to? And just a bengal to 200 MILLION muslim brothers and sisters?? And as long as khalistan is concerned it is a dead issue you can give it as much importance as you want but sikhs don't really care. :)

UAE backs India's bid for permanent UNSC seat

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The list of Muslim nations supporting India's UNSC aspirations keeps growing.

In April 2010, Morocco too supported India's permanent UNSC seat bid.

Morocco pledges support for India in UN Security Council - The Times of India

When the great satan supports india how can its stooges fall behind? These Arab states do not have sovereignty so it does not matter what they say. What matters is what their master says.

. .
My dear country man, the ruling class of present day arabia is driven by Self interest and Self preservation, expecting them to take a stand for fellow brother's in faith is like expecting Mango's from a Date tree.

My only interest is saudi arabia's stand on this issue, rest of GCC dont matter much.

GCC dont even support Palestinian's ( yes they dole out few millions when israel finish its job each time killing palestinian for turkey shoot ), so pls stop expecting from them.

So i want Pakistan to forge new alliances keeping its own interest inmind. :coffee:

.
UAE is a US close alliy like the turky and saudi..........

A false comparison. Allies have the right to decline a request but these Arab states do not have the power to say no to the US. So, officially they may be 'allies' but in reality the US is the master and these Arab states are slaves.

.
well Saudi Arabia is the king of GCC while small players like UAE need cheap labors to rescues their indebted economy and boost industry..so yes as long we a strategic relation with Saudis we need not to worry about small players...they naturally tend to be rebel. Let them be!

not correct to called it master/slave......

it's been a gentleman who returns the faver , UAE is just behaving like a gentleman..........

but you might not understand these thing....

Haha...the hypocrisy amazes me. :rofl::rofl::rofl:

You mock the GCC calling them America's stooges, yet your leaders don't have the balls to stand up to the "great satan". That country is literally keeping you guys afloat through military and financial aid and in return you sold them your very sovereignty. At least I don't see American soldiers using the GCC countries for drone target practice. Pakistan has no morals grounds to lecture those countries on standing up to the "great satan", you are probably the biggest cowards of the whole lot.

One of the reasons the muslim countries are getting closer to India is probably because they think that India is more likely to stand up to the "great satan" for just causes than their so called "brothers" will ever do.

Mafia dons do this kind of favours and everyone knows what happens when those favours are not returned.

Obama's support kicks of hectic efforts for India's UN Security Council bid

US President Barack Obama's expression of support has lent an impetus to India's efforts to secure a permanent seat in UN Security Council, with hectic discussions having been initiated with a number of countries like France, Japan, Russia and Germany.

A push to India's bid for permanent seat is also being given at the United Nations Headquarters by the country's Permanent Mission.

Close on the heels of Obama's announcement, France's Head of UN Division in the Foreign Ministry Sylvie Berman visited Delhi recently and met foreign secretary Nirupama Rao and some other senior officials of the External Affairs Ministry to discuss the issue of reforms, sources said.

This was followed by a visit by Japanese deputy foreign minister. The Head of Russian Foreign Ministry's UN Division and German officials are expected here soon.

"An impetus to the efforts to secure permanent seat has been lent by Obama's announcement. It has given a boost," a source noted in the context of hectic parleys.

The focus of the discussions is overall reform of the UN, including that of the Security Council, in permanent and non-permanent categories, the sources said.

India is set to assume the non-permanent membership of the Security Council in January for two years and this aspect also came up for discussion in terms of the issues that the powerful world body is going to be faced with.

The immediate global issues, on which India will have to take position as non-permanent member of the UNSC, relate to referendum in Sudan expected in January, the UN report on the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri and Nepal where the political system is deadlocked.

Notwithstanding Obama's announcement of support, India is keen to strive for the permanent seat under the format of G-4 which also includes Brazil, Germany and Japan.

Significantly, three members of the G-4 -- India, Brazil and Germany -- will together be in the UNSC from next January as non-permanent members, providing them an opportunity to push their agenda further.

For the UN reforms, five rounds of inter-governmental negotiations have taken place since 2009 and made some progress.

The negotiations are taking place on five key aspects --categories of membership, question of veto, regional representation, size of enlarged Security Council, and working methods of the council and its relationship with 192-member assembly.

The G-4 has been pushing for inclusion of six new permanent members -- two each from Asia and Africa and one each from Europe and Latin America -- and four non-permanent members to raise the strength of the Security Council from 15 members to 25.

A deceit to prevent any real reform from taking place! Including a few more countries in that 'exclusive club' cannot be a reform, at best it is enlarging the number of privileged states in the UN.
