UAE, our brotherly Islamic country took special interest to rebuild infrastructure in Swat and Malakand division after terror-stricken heaven were wiped off from militant elements under national counter terrorism strategy of “Dialogue, Deter and Develop”. The biggest hill task was revival of livelihood in the area and to create socio-economic opportunities for the youth and population of the area. The 45 Engineers Division of Pakistan Army rose to this challenge with assistance of UAE and undertook the construction of 53 educational institutions,07 hospitals and 64 water supply schemes in FATA and Malakand Division.

The US$ 50 Million UAE Pakistan Assistance Program (UPAP) has made huge impact on the development of FATA and Malakand division and at present, more than 30,000 children are studying in UPAP schools, hospitals having 330 beds capacity with state of art facilities like dialysis, CT scans, modern labs have been provided in UPAP hospitals and over one million people are drinking safe water from the UPAP water supply schemes.

The joint efforts of UAE and Pakistan Army have not only won the hearts and minds of the Pakistani nation, the whole hearted support from Government of UAE has also added a new chapter of brotherly relations between the two countries.

Cool. we need to develop these beautiful Northern areas of Pakistan.

.
I think Pakistan should welcome Middle Eastern investment in Pakistan's Minerals.
We have vast Oil, Gas and Coal reserves even in Seas and I am 100% sure if investment comes then PN would be happy in providing them with security needed there..

I wish to see that Pak Coast Guards Authority should be given to PN and merging MSA into Coast Guards.:pakistan:

Very thanks to U.A.E. for reconstruction of schools in SWAT, Local government should attract people of district to sent their children to these beautiful schools, without students U.A.E. work will be all in vain.

Isn't it the job of the civil administration/government to rebuild? Why does the PA have to do it?

To all those critics of development work by Military.... I wish they could appreciate the work by 45 Eng Division of Pak Army. These schools and hospitals were actually bombed by militants...drinking water wells were poisoned and civil administration could not survive in the area without these basic necessities i.e schools, hospitals and clean drinking water. The whole population turned in to IDPs and in order to rehabilitate them back to their towns and villages the Eng division came forward with their expertise and technical support and built these schools, hospitals etc on war footings to help civil administration.

It is noted that 45 Engineer Division has not charged a single penny for their support and work.

At present these facilities are being run and owned by Civil Administration.
