UAE and France sign deal for 80 Rafale fighter jets

It seems that UAE top brass don't agree with you.
The Mirage 2000 fleet is now quite old. Don't forget that the first delivery will not occur before 2027....

The Mirage 2000 has done upgrading and the program finished just 2 years ago. I get a sense than refurbished and overhauling the engine also take place during the program.

.
UAE Air Force is already quite decent, I dont know why they want to spend huge money to buy 80 Rafales. Better spending the money for something more productive. They should start ordering new fighter in 2032 instead of now, to replace their Mirage 2000 with 5 generation fighters.

It's to probably replace the Mirage 2000-9s. While excellent fighters, it seems maintaining them is increasingly costly. Unlike the F-16, for example, Dassault shut down M2K production over a decade ago and its end-users are now cannibalizing older airframes. If anything, I'm more worried about where these older M2K-9s could go. I hope the UAEAF flies them into the ground to the point they can't even be used for spares. @SQ8

The last Rafale will be delivered i 10 years. So nothing strange to overhaul the M2000 fleet. The older (refurbished later to -9) are now nearly 30 years old

Is it true that Rafale F4 is still underdevelopment and the program will be completed in 2024 ?

"Eventually Replace" = In your opinion is ............yrs?
No idea when to be exact but that's the plan. The Emirati Mirage 2000-9 pilots were evaluating the Rafale for a while.

Also what is simmilar between me and @HalfMoon?
in the beginning he was playing oh so innocent and iquisitive just like you do i.e mocking/torturing/annoying/fake liking me etc.

also defended bhararat and Hinduism to the hilt in a very effective and lucid manner, then suddenly did an about-turn and went full retard

.
you are weird like that halfmoon of whose 2018 period is reminiscent of the new member @Kingdom come's behavior !

froggies in-fact help foreign customers hide corruption, they are experts in this field. the only corruption they do not tolerate is within France itself among its own citizenry.

All the Franco-Indian Rafale corruption news is in fact coming out of France not India.

I only read comments and never reply and you can be sure I will never try to pretend to be a Muslim ever and never try to belittle my country

So you have a problem with me defending my country against false accusations?
I have never defended Hinduism also not a hindu

Let me say to you I will be most happy if SuvarnaTeja and HalfMoon are gone

Also If replying back to you is mocking then ok will never do so again

@doorstar claims that he is not a Muslim but keeps quoting Quran all the time and claims @The Eagle is banning him unfairly . Very weird.
not allowed to quote from the Bible lest I want PDF jehadis to lynch me. btw I don't only Know quran but some vedas and puranas too. an example of web lynching can be seen @ https://defence.pk/pdf/posts/10503355/

regarding the eagle he can ban me for saying that the UK is governed by rule of law. or for saying that sanaullah is a drug lord or for saying that fat pandit being here is not UK's but Pakistan's doing

I would have thought UAE would go with the newer F-15 or something similar but Rafale is a great choice. Congrats to France for another export success.

It could be that they may be sold to India or to another user like the HAF which may want to keep its fleet going.
However, considering that the UAEAF used theirs very focused on A2A so these airframe are probably pretty stressed out.
With the Rafale in place however you are likely to see the Armee De Air and IAF regular visitors to ATLC.

This Rafale deal has been on the table for over 10 years now - with UAE refusing to budge over pricing. It seems the French may have relented and offered pricing that makes sense - given the size of the order.

It would be useful to know the full terms of the financial contract including unit costs, and support/maintenance costs.

Good on France for both this sale as its a massive sale for them - and also for understanding that you need to own Intellectual property if you want to sell something and make money. A lesson that overall the UK has forgotten and lost. The UK was one of the world premier aerospace powers - but the goverments focus on "market efficiency" and "finding the cheapest" contract has destroyed large parts of our military industry complex. Until Tempest comes unline, we dont have anything we can compete in against the French for their Rafale contracts.

We are slowly rebuilding our naval ship building industry and hopefully Tempest can re-kickstart our aerospace industry if the politicans don't as usual f---- it up.

Additionally, UK needs to make its products ITAR free if it wants the flexibility to sell to who ever they want to.

Let's see where Qatari Mirages end up first. India has been buying attrition replacements from France as well airframes for spare parts. They have also slowed down the upgrade program for now but these UAE ones could very likely end up there too or in Egypt.
