I agree with you bro but unfortunately it applies for us no matter who's in our front. But like I said in the next page I think, it would be a dump move to apply the POW process for them anyways. I said this below, and I wonder what the pack thinks about this idea,
@-SINAN- @xenon54 @cabatli_53 @UkroTurk @ANMDT and the rest of the Turkish community whom I might have forgotten to mention.
The smartest move here would be to have the GNA arrest Haftar-affiliated soldiers under the charge of treason, desertion and failure to obey orders; arrest the militants for terrorism charges; and instead of arresting the foreign soldiers they should charge them with violation of Libya's sovereignty and territorial integrity. On the other hand if the MIT has proof of Egyptian/UAE involvement in the killing of Turkish personnel in the past months; then the foreign soldiers in the base should be under Turkish military custody and shiped to Turkey. These moves will significantly augment GNA's legitimacy, both domestically and internationally and we will have a huge bargaining power that would not be limited to use for the take over of the base only. The status of French/Russian soldiers is entirely a different question.
Diplomatically, it would be a very dumb move to apply what is commonly known as laws of war. By doing so, GNA would basically have recognized LNA and associated foreign powers as its legal counterpart and legally an equal force operating in the country, it would undermine its own legitimacy. If GNA wants to prove the world it is the government in Libya the way UN sees it. It should rather stick to terrorism and penal charges rather than going all Geneva. Because like it or not, GNA is the only legitimate government in the country and Turkish military is the only foreign country who has the consent to use force and to maintain military presence granted by the legitimate government in Libya. They should be charged with above mentioned crimes. Not as POWs.
