I think UAE could make a bigger industrial deal like of 100 Rafales and also try to market it in South America, EU as well as for countries like Taiwan and Asia too.

I think the UAE will only need 60 DR, and I suspect that anyone is going to market it except France.

Why not 100 of these as they are superior weapon system? Also I think they should keep a decent fleet of 100 Rafales and 80-100 F-16s.

But I think that UAE should have bought about:
7 Saab-2000 AEW&Cs
7 Saab-2000 MPAs

As this will be much helpful in terms of operation, rather than operating fighters all the time.

Saudi Rafale buy remains unconfirmed, HEADLINES
KSA's Rafale potential sale

France and Saudi Arabia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that could result in the sale of 48 Dassault Rafale multirole fighter aircraft to the Royal Saudi Air Force and the conclusion of a long-negotiated contract for the supply of a surveillance system to the kingdom, media reports in Paris have claimed.

However, doubts over the claim remain: Dassault has not confirmed any contract and one diplomatic source has denied that one was ever signed.

These links are bit old though.

Ah.. Yes :azn: :bounce:

money isn't a problem for saudi arabia :woot:

It isn't really about money, KSA looks puts its own national secuirty before anything else. I don't think the French would hesitate a second to turn down such proposal :)

Now in order to make the Rafale successful, you need to put down the marker with the UAE, and Qatar for the time being.

I hope, but it's too hard, not for money but for political reason i think..... We must never abandon .. :girl_wacko:

Nothing is hard my friend. The reason why the negotiation is taking too long with the Emirates is because of their expensive taste, they are asking for more powerful Rafael than the ones the French Air Force is operating, and want them to be built locally.

It isn't a hard job for France to win another deal with Qatar, you already won the 1997 contract, and you can do it again as well.

Just be more flexible you know? (; ..
