Why it matters: Hook is on a regional tour to discuss Iran with U.S. allies, with stops in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Israel. The main issue on his agenda is the U.S. efforts to extend an international arms embargo on Iran beyond October, when it is due to expire.

What he's saying: “What I am hearing very clearly is that the arms embargo on Iran cannot be allowed to expire. When you see the Israelis and the Arabs agree on something so strongly, people should listen," Hook said.

The problem: Russia and China, both members of the UN Security Council, oppose the U.S. efforts to extend the embargo.
  • The U.S. has attempted to apply public pressure on those countries, and Hook is trying to mobilize support from other Security Council members.
  • "I am hopeful because Russia and China also want a stable Middle East and if they let the arms embargo expire, that won’t be possible, because in four months Iran will be free to import and export heavy weapons," Hook said.
  • "They will move them to their proxies — Hamas, Hezbollah and other Shia militias that threaten Israel and our Arab partners."

USA at this very moment especially Brian swine sound like streets hoe-s. They left JCPOA so they have no say in that regard anymore.

More over we have military option too, levelling all American military bases in Middle East and beyond is on the agenda of IRGC missile Force. Removing USA from Region is THE Long awaited mission of IRGC, now they are free to Choose among political or assymetrical or proxy Options.. ... Thats their Choice but eliminating USA from this Region is a duty of IRGC. They are trained for it and its Just a matter of time.

Like they say in the States..a day late and a dollar short! Iran has a working bomb..tried and true..and there is nothing the US can do...that they haven't already done to Iran...But it is always amazing to see Arab countries, especially the ones whose survival depends on uncle Sam, applauds any news against Iran.

US is a joke of its former self and now that their are other major players in the region, there is no way US will ever indulge in direct war with Iran. Yes their will be skirmishes like was the case when Gen Solmani was assassinated and Iran retaliated but that's the extent of it. If US wanted to go to war shooting down of its drone and hitting its base in Iraq would had been enough to start one
This is just hot air.

they still think its 2002 and their military threats will be taken seriously.

and just think the 90s werent that long ago.... The USSR was dismantled and Russia was a bankrupt failing state not even able to exert constitutional authority in some of its remote regions. with a declining population.

China was a backward country with a tiny economy. dismissed as "rice eaters"

The americans owned the world.. there were a few relatively smaller states left that had not submitted like Iran Iraq Syria, NK, Libya.

"project for a new american century" was supposed to finish off those "rogue countries" and fully secure the entire earth for the americans......

All empires fall eventually but the pathetic US one couldnt even last 2 decades and its crumbling. its laughable and sad.

Just posturing. An attack on Iran would need the best situation for the green. At the moment the most strategic country for the attack is overwhelmingly against the attack (Turkey), and the US can bully Iraq around only so much before there's another civil war and her bases are unsafe.

The US is weak and vurlnerable right now and you can see this by Russian moves in the Mediterranean even though Turkey is ready to engage.

USA failed in rule the world, but they are successful in protect themself (economically its ruling elite, and militarily).

They still can do messes around the world with the security of being invulnerable, they can't be attacked due to their privileged physical position.

Well, the danger still exists, they can use puppets dumbsh*ts regimes like Israel and GCC states to igniting wars, because USA always will be untouched. And always it's useful for the USA future sink oil rich states in the chaos and mayhem (like they did in Iraq and Libya) to reduce those countries oil internal cosumption.

its actually the other way around. its the israeli regime thats trying to start an Iran and US war.

and you SERIOUSLY mistaken when you think the US "will not be touched" if it attacks Iran. Iran will absolutely anahilate any american asset within Irans Regions. this includes the large 5th fleet thats a sitting duck in the persian gulf. and many many major american bases that are in short range missile territory for Iran.

and thats just the beginning. i highly suggest you do more research into the matter. The US simply has no military option with Iran. if they did they would have long ago done something.
