These sanctions are unfortunate but understandable. Erdogan made a huge blunder favoring Russia over the US, and now he’s paying the price. Trump was more than generous to Erdogan, but at the end of the day it is what it is. Erdogan has good intentions, but sometimes I think he lacks intelligence. He should have known from the very beginning never to trust Russia. Muslims have always made the error of favoring Russia, China over America and the West. Pakistan is making the very same blunder, but will realize it in the near future.

In reality your precious, innocent West is scared because their Treaty of Lausanne is about to expire after which Turkey will be able to charge for heavy shipping traffic that passes through Kara deniz, Marmara and Bosphorus areas. Which will add billions to Turkish revenue. West is also scared of a resurgent Turkey which they had worked really hard to pacify through various schemes and devious plots.

Taking lessons from this, turkey needs to truly focus on indigenous stuff and need to speed it up! in the meanwhile focus on strong relations with Russia and China... Take expertise from them and completely substitute western systems from all Turkish products. As well as buy as a stop gap measure defence equipment from these 2 countries like engines, EO/IO sensors etc well as 5th gen aircrafts to balance things with Greece and Israel. While focus completely on TFX on war footing

In the threat prospective, focus fully and only on mediterranean sea, greece and libya etc Put Syria/uygur or other things which are against China/russia in back burner.

In a few years, Turkey will endup being better then it was with west.

Russia also bombed Syria to Hell and slaughtered tens of thousands of Syrian civilians at the behest of Assad. So Assad may love Russia, but his people hate Putin with a passion.

These sanction may hurt turkey if it didnt do what im suggesting as thats exactly what Pakistan did and is still doing, and that has today made Pak a force to be recon with in the world today, whose enen india is at mercy of {read op. swift retort}

Treaty of Louisiane is ending in next 3 years. Meaning bosphorus strait will be under full turkish control, meaning Turkey can easily punish west by banning them off it.

If turkey follow Pak's example and start a nuke and missile program like Pakistan did when she was sanctioned this will prove to be another egg on their faces.

Right now in this 21st century, balance of power is fast shifting from East to West, where Russia is resurrecting, And China is now becoming a new superpower and set to write her own new World Order{read Road and Belt}.
