The reports seem to be coming from Iranian sources and American intelligence so it might be very well true.
Doesnt even the possibility anger you that Russians used Iranian airspace without permission and endangered Iranian lives, while the whole operation could have been done safely from Mediterranian?
You shouldnt take this incident lightly.
And who said they used our airspace without permission? Firstly, Russian DM already declared that they had collaborated with both Iran and Iraq before launching, secondly, the missile path didn't include any towns and villages, as it was planned by both Iran and Russia. Even if all the 26 missiles had crashed, it wouldn't hurt anyone.
Secondly, you do understand that launching 26 cruise missiles that fly at 15m from the ground over a country is not something that can be easily done without permission, right? During Iraq invasion, few U.S Tomahawk missiles landed by mistake in Iran, and U.S, the same country that barely apologizes anyone, apologized for the incident, to its enemy. Iran's airspace rules are very strict, regardless of who is trying to violate it without permission, friend or enemy.
And last but not least, Iran and Russia are on the same side in this particular issue, why should they use our airspace without permission when we allowed their jets to fly from Iran to go to Syria and we have officially supported their operations in Syria? If the missiles had gone through Turkish airspace, you could say that, since 2 countries are not on the best terms now.
