U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrived in Japan on Thursday for talks with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and her Japanese counterpart, after her visit to Taiwan raised the ire of China.

Pelosi, on the last leg of an Asian tour that has taken her to Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and South Korea, is scheduled to meet with Kishida for breakfast at his official residence in Tokyo on Friday.

Now it seems that Japan is the only reliable ally of the USA in East and Southeast Asia.

We expected the opposition of ASEAN countries to the USA, but we didn't expect the South Korean President and foreign minister to refuse to meet Pelosi.

Why would you expect a vacationing President of South Korea to meet Pelosi?

Do you really think Biden (or Trump) would cut their vacations/schedules short to meet with the Speaker of the South Korean National Assembly Kim Jin-pyo or some official from Malaysia/Singapore/Japan at that same status?

I suppose President Xi drops everything and comes running when one of Venezuela's lower officials visits.

perhaps the korean president would not forget the cold hand shaking he received from biden at the nato meet?

why would the korean president has to issue an announcement he is not free to meet pelosi then? Pelosi semms a little upset about that.

If I don't get it wrong, you are thinking that South Korea is equivalent to China and the USA is equivalent to Venezuela.

Pelosi is the third official of the US govt. Do you think she is a low-level official? In 2018, when China the third official (Chairman of the National People's Congress of China) visited South Korea, South Korean President Moon Jae-in personally welcomed him.

BTW: South Korea's foreign minister also refused to meet Pelosi. Moreover, the South Korean Foreign Ministry announced its upcoming visit to China after rejecting Pelosi.

Korean people can live to the present, they rely on "Sadaejuui" and sensitive sense of smell.

Now even Southeast Asian countries have seen the decline of the USA, and Korean people can certainly see it.

The Japanese are because the Chinese have not given them a choice.

Yes, these people at least didn't refuse to meet Pelosi. However, ASEAN countries issued statements of support for China after meeting with Pelosi. That's why I said that only Japan is a reliable ally of the USA.

In fact, we know that Japan is also unreliable. Japan's goal is to normalize the country, so they want to weaken China and the USA at the same time.

BTW: Australia immediately announced its support for China after Pelosi arrived in Taiwan, and Australia is using CNY to trade with China.

I was surprised Yoon acted so neutral. So we can see that in a war, Korea will just remain neutral. As in only let US use their base but not attack in tandem. Something positive came out of this drama afterall. Even Philippines denying their airspace, I never expected it. We do have fragile feelings ya know. Lolololo

Nancy, you are a moron. China surrounded Taiwan and taiwanese people are in deep sht right now because of your political show

.
How she got out of Taiwan??🤣
According to Chinese claim she won't get out bcz of blocking drill. Lol

. .
So after her visit to Taiwan, China can basically justify any aggressive action they want against Taiwan and any norms they had to abide by just went out the window. Most countries around China save for Japan are like I guess this is the new normal now. Not sure who’s side Nancy is on.
