U.S. Aircraft Carrier Enters Zone Near Iranian Oil Route as Tensions Rise

Well, that's what the US could do - just one example:
Without attacking mainland Iran, they can bomb the Kharg Island oil loading terminal - this means Iran won't be able to export oil
--> Iran's possible response: do the same to Kuwaiti. Saudi, UAE oil loading terminals (or oil fields) - using ballistic missiles
--> US's response or deterrent threat: we will bomb every single Iranian oil refinery - no gasoline, no cars or trucks running in Iran, all economic activity halted

Or a different scenario: US troops occupy the three Iranian Islands claimed by UAE, make them part of UAE territory, a humiliating blow to Iran's ego, and establish permanent miliitary bases there, right at the Strait of Hormuz. The islands will become an unsinkable part of the US navy. (Though it will not be so easy to occupy the island, as hundreds of BM;s would rain down on them, but eventually ...)

War is a lose lose scenario ... That's why any reasonable person should be against it

If this scenario looks exciting and sweet to our Chinese members, why not try the same thing with the US navy off Taiwanese coast ? If Iran can win, why can't China ? Obvious answer, china cares about its economy. But so should Iran.

It's not about fairness or justice, but about how nasty and powerful your opponent can be ... it is wiser not to mess with nasty, powerful, cruel, unjust bullies ... unless you can win with minimal cost

Even a huge bully messing with underdogs will pay ... as seen in Iraq and Afghanistan ... but the underdogs have suffered 1000 times more ... was it worth it to the underdogs and their people ?

i hope iran can do this but after that

what usa will do ?

I'm not Iranian, but that sounds like defeatism to me, and totally unworthy of your great nation.

China skirmishes with the US navy to mark our territory and establish our might very often. Why do you think we attacked the USS Impeccable in South China Sea? Why do you think we did a mock submarine attack on the Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier? Why do you think we brought down the EP-3 over Hainan Island? Why do you think we shot down the Japanese F-15 over Diaoyutai Islands?

Iran like China is a proud sovereign nation. You should be grateful Iranian government does not choose to be a slave to USA like you probably would.

Yes, it's worth it to die fighting for your freedom. It's not worth it to live in slavery. Look at what happens to those nations who are enslaved mentally because they submitted to conquerors -- look at their posts on PDF to see the inferiority complex.

War is a necessary precondition to the birth of a new world order free from USA's plan to enslave non-Western countries.

This is "exciting and sweet" indeed! I am proud that China is a part of this, and all Iranians should be proud of their clever and wise leaders too. CCP / mullah friendship forever!

China "attacked" USS Impeccable by your nasty Underwear , should Iran "attack" US in the same way :cheesy:

ASDF F-15 and pilot missing in the East China Sea | The Japan Times Online

An Air Self-Defense Force F-15 fighter from the Naha Air Base in Okinawa Prefecture apparently went down Tuesday morning in the East China Sea during a training flight and the pilot is listed as missing, Defense Ministry officials in Tokyo said.

The ASDF and Maritime Self-Defense Force have discovered what appears to be pieces of an aircraft floating near the area where radar contact with the fighter was lost.

The F-15J disappeared from radar around 10:33 a.m. over the sea approximately 185 km northwest of the Naha base while it was engaging in a training mission with three other F-15s, Defense Ministry officials said.

"We are currently investigating the details of the accident, and doing everything we can to search for the missing pilot. We will provide continuous updates on any discoveries we find," Shigeru Iwasaki, ASDF chief of staff, said in a prepared comment.

The missing pilot as identified as Maj. Yuji Kawakubo, 37, a veteran with more than 3,000 hours of flight time, including 1,700 in F-15s.

Kawakubo was engaging in combat drills with the other fighters when his plane went down.

You claim it was shot down.

Big difference from the source you posted. And there were three other F-15's.

F-15's on a training hop don't carry live missiles.

"Training missions" in the East China Sea? Sure....

Japan scrambles F-15 as China jets near airspace | Asian Correspondent

The Japanese government never explained what happened to the missing F-15. Was it a pilot error or something? We only know that something caused it to shatter into little pieces like a mid-air explosion.

Really? How do we "know" that exactly? There is such a thing called the surface of the earth that also tends to turn airplanes into little pieces.

"Training missions" in the East China Sea?

Sure. I had training missions over Germany, Spain, Italy, the Gulf of Mexico. All of us were totally unarmed. No missiles, no bullets. You need none of those to train.

Come on, fess up. You wanted to jazz up the thread with implications that China had shot down a Japanese fighter, when the reality is, it was a training loss, like one of ten thousand in the past.

Do you do training missions in disputed zones? No.

If there was a military death or casualty in a disputed zone, most likely it wasn't caused by a training accident to begin with. That's just an excuse to cover up -- most likely F-15s were scrambled, fully armed of course, to intercept Chinese jets and one of them was shot down.

You say this without a shred of evidence. If it makes you feel better...

I flew training missions being tracked by East German SA-5 batteries. We did it all the time.
