U.S. Agencies Block Technology Exports for Supercomputer in China

. . .
This is BS. I hope the person, who may no longer be on this forum sees this. China's restrictions on Western firms is completely legitimate. How can a country block a whole nation's super computer development.

If it's really nuclear worries, don't, China can wipe the world off the earth, if she so chooses. We can nuke ourselves a thousand times to sent the world into an ice age, even if we can't sent it to America, which we can.

This news is the exact reason why China must peruse a strategy such as the one we been doing. Today it's this, tomorrow it's something else and 20 years ago it's the total ban on military technology.

loool Neve knew most/amost all of Chinas high end chips(even for critical projects) relied on U.S designed/developed Chips. That will mean the U.S knows almost all of the ins and outs of Chinas critical projects/have acess to most of them than they re letting us know. U.S tech firms really control/rule the world, cant hate them, cant live without them.

the article already said it well. this hurts Intel more than China.

I hope this is not a sign of US decision makers becoming more and more short-sighted.

. .
I think China should ban the rare earth export to the US, we should teach the Americans what is equal,
We can't let the Americans developed these things with our resources

. .
MUST get rid of the US tech company reliance. This is no longer a should but something must be accomplished at all cost.

.
Must be some moron in US congress thinking blocking some stupid chip sales will stop China from developing faster supercomputer?

Ever since Obama the clown is being humiliated by the AIIB event. US congress is making more and more irrational decision. This just showing how mad they are over AIIB lost. :D

Nuclear is just a dumb excuse. My 2 cents they are blocking China's threat to encryption.

china has 32 nm tech chips. Combine it with Elbrus VLIW architecture you will have intel beater .

It will take a really long time, if ever. There are some industries that are just US strength due to various reasons.

US has the whole ICT Industry. Even the some bit of it that US doesn't conquer, is in the hands of its allies.

Right from fabrication technologies, to architecture; processor designing, to software. US is just way too ahead of the rest.

In China you have SMIC, which is still running on 24 nm technology, when TSMC and Samsung, and Intel are moving to 10 nm.

China has only one processor designer (of note) which is Hi-silicon. I know there is speadtrum, but personally it operates at a really low level. Almost all SOCs are from Qualcomm, or the like.

China has no company of note, making high end software. China has made one operating system, with the help of some UK company, based on Linux. While Microsoft does it commercially. Apple has its own. The US Defence forces work on their own. While China does indeed have software companies for cybersecurity, they are no where near capable.

Plus then there are many many different uses.

America literally makes processors at will, while China has to give considerable effort.

China can still buy them via Hong kong, and the US knows it.
It is just a symbolic move to shut up those hawks in congress.
