I predict 32 VLS cells, same as on Type-55 cruiser.
So could get 16 X 200 km range HQ-9X, 32 quad_- packed 70km Medium range missile and 8 anti-submarine missile.
Can see these goodies going into the frigate that China will help BD build

Bingo, we share the same idea.
32 VLS cells, but upgraded to 052D/055 type. but I prefer 12 HQ-9B and 12 ASROC.

so at 5000 tons 32 vls, the same as on the type 054A! although if it is the type that has been fitted on the 052D/055 it's another story. I'm wondering if it's possible to fit 48 vls on 054B(the same type of 052D/055), 32 cells fwd and 16 cells aft. for the fwd cells armament I quite agree with you. the aft cells for 8 supersonic AshCM and 8 LACM, if the aft cells are at all possible to integrate into the design!!

so my question is, has the design been finalized and the number of vls been confirmed? and are there any nearly accurate CG available?

Type 054B

The 5,000-ton class Type 054B or Jiangkai-III multi-purpose frigates are a further derivate of the Type 54 class vessels with enhanced anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities and an all-electric propulsion system developing 20 MW. China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) is responsible for the construction of the lead ship. The larger Type 054B frigates integrates both flight deck and hangar for a single Z-9C or Ka-28 ASW helicopter. Her vertical launch system (VLS) will accept HHQ-16C/D surface-to-air missiles, CY-3 anti-submarine missiles and YJ-85 supersonic long-range land attack/anti-ship missiles. Due to its larger hull the Type 054B may be fitted with more than 32 VLS cells. The ship will be fitted with an eight-cell FL-3000N close range air defense system similar to the US Navy's RAM anti-missile system. The weapon system also includes a 76mm PJ26 dual purpose gun, Type 81 anti-submarine rocket launcher and two triple 324mm torpedo tubes. The Type 054B existence was revealed in 2013 with the lead ship to be commissioned by the PLAN in 2016 or 2017.

Just from this last sentence alone, I find it hard to believe anything else this states ...

8X FL-3000N anti-missile missiles is too low, should be 24X since the new 054B is supposed to be 5,000 tonnes. Note that the 1,350 tonne type 056 corvette is fitted with 8X FL-3000N.

36 universal vls can be packed according to mission, an example would be
8x SSM (one missile tube in one cell),
48x mid-range SAM (HHQ-16B/C, 2 missile tubes in one cell, 24 cells x 2 missiles),
8x Yu-8 torpedo/missiles ( 2 torpedo/missiles tubes in one cell, 4 cells x 2 Yu-8)
