JAISALMER: Two intruders who were caught in the last two weeks at the international border adjoining Ganganagar in two separate incidents were handed over to Pakistani rangers on Wednesday evening. These two intruders were deported back to Pakistan after security agencies found nothing objectionable during their interrogation.

According to BSF Rajasthan frontier sources, a border post at the international border adjoining Ganganagar found Bilal Hussain (55), a resident of Kundavali in Pakistan, entering into Indian territory on May 1 and was subsequently caught. Another intruder Saiyad Abbas (31) was caught by an alert BSF patrolling party near the Faridar border post on May 8.

Official sources said BSF handed them over to police after a preliminary interrogation. Later security and intelligence agencies jointly interrogated them but nothing objectionable was found. Following clearance from the agencies, these intruders were handed back to Pakistani rangers during flag meetings.

Sources said Pak intelligence agency ISI send innocent people into the Indian border to find out the Indian security arrangement and to push consignments of narcotics and explosive items later. In the last many weeks, there has been an increase in such efforts and in last two weeks alone, three attempts of intrusion have taken place.

I disagree with our lackadaisical attitude. Such intruders should be jailed an appropriate period of time, to discourage such tactics.
