President Arif Alvi was served a notice by microblogging social media platform Twitter for posting in support of Kashmiris and highlighting the reality of the occupied valley after India’s illegal and unilateral move to annex the region.

Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari criticised the platform for “becoming a mouthpiece of the rogue Modi government” and lamented that the move was in”bad taste and simply ridiculous”.

The Twitter notice, however, mentioned that it has “investigated the reported content and could not identify any violations of the Twitter Rules or applicable law.”

Restrictions have been imposed in occupied Kashmir since India withdrew the disputed region’s special status under Article-370 and split the state into two Union Territories on August 5.

Pakistan has pledged to take the matter with India over Kashmir to every platform including the International Court of Justice.

Simultaneously, the government officials, journalists and activists have been using social media platforms, including Twitter, for showing their support of Kashmir freedom.

PTA approaches Twitter over suspension of Pakistani accounts

Recently, Twitter blocked over 200 Pakistani user accounts for tweeting in favour of Kashmiris and against India’s brutality in the valley.

On August 25, the minister had reacted again when a similar notice was sent to Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed and had said, Twitter was trying to prevent “exposing of Indian fascism.”

Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major Gen Asif Ghafoor had earlier said the authorities were taking up with Twitter and Facebook the suspension of Pakistani social media accounts posting content in support of Kashmir.

. .
Pakistan should warn twitter, it can be banned in Pakistan.

. .
1. Indian airlines not banned from Pak airspace.
2. Twitter continues to agitate and disrupt freedom of speech. Still no action from the government.

I don't like this trend.

Pakistan should warn twitter, it can be banned in Pakistan.

Warning time is over. Twitter has been playing this rotten game for a few years now. This has been ongoing well before Kashmir. Time has come for an actual ban.

. .
Pakistan should first economically strengthen itself, look for its interests, bash Ummah concept, save itself from FATF ......... and then may be Pakistan can claim its Freedom of Speech rights.

In today's address to nation PM of Pakistan should stress on these goals before banning twitter in Pakistan.

SMQ can call it "Twitter has every right to look for its interests, its above religious lines".

. .
I don't see any problem in that notice, someone reported a certain tweet and after investigating the content they did not take any action thats it. You have to follow their rules if you're using their service, just like I am using PDF; I have to go by PDF rules - for example my English is very bad - I am aathwin fail and mostly self taught to be honest and I dont like writing in English because my English is bad I believe but I have to go by the rules on PDF and write my posts in English.

You've to follow the laws of the lands, if not then whats the difference between you and an animal aka Indians?

. .
Ye tumhare leaders Twitter pe hi kashmir jeetenge ?
Twitter is for burgurs. Real action is out there. As indian we are very happy they are yapping on internet because we can unite and get them banned.

Not once indian pm had uttered pakistan or pakistani name. He is simply ignoring them.

These leaders sound attention seekers.

I think as leader they should listen to public and get involved. Rest its Pakistanis choice afterall u are democracy.
