China needs to seriously regulate or close down its wet markets across the country. Shut down the wildlife trade. Put wet market vendors in a re-education camp and force them to practice modern sanitation conditions and upgrade all infrastructure in existing wet markets.

If it doesn't do this, then China is not serious about preventing the next outbreak. It is endangering itself and the whole world.

This should happen, but don't kid yourself about it stopping every viral outbreak. There's going to be a monster of a pandemic, it's just a question of when, not if. The swine flu of 2009 came from pigs, not wildlife. The avian flu pandemic came from poultry, not wildlife. Unless the entire world becomes vegetarian, there's always going to be some virus that wins the lottery and crosses over into humans.
