TWIC FILES - A Chess Game by me

Hii Everybody,

Okay I have laid out another application and this time it is not for Cricket Lovers but for Chess Freaks. Try TWIC FILES.

TWIC Files is one of the best learning resources of chess that has ever been available to the chess students with a database of more than 1.2 Million Chess Games played over the last 16 years. It contains Mega Events, WorldCups, Challenge Matches and God knows what. You can search matches by events, by players, by ECO, and also X vs Y. It has multiple game views and offers features which are introduced first time in the chess market.

It is all done by 2 guys, me as designer and Faisal as programmer, a friend of mine in Lahore. We have worked like 2 months on it working roughly 4-5 hours a day daily.

Its a free chess aap and is currently available for iPhones but its Android version is also on the way and will be available for free again.

Its been rated 4 and 5 stars and chess players are loving it. Download it, Try it and I am sure you will love it too. Have a look at its review at Chess.com.

I had a few chess apps on my iPhone only one stood out, ichess, I think. The interface of yours looks kind of like that one. Will d'load.

Not yet but stay tuned.. we need to see how this application is able to penetrate into the market. Its free, built different and contains many good things which other similar training games lack. So prospects are great but bit down the road. But before coming to iPad, we have plan to produce its Android version which could be coming in next couple of months or so.

Actually for iPad, I will have to reproduce all the graphics again which is time-taking task. Thats why I am waiting to see response of this effort before going for iPad.

But the search engine showed me three different versions of this game.

what is the difference between all of them? one is about 63MB, second about 36MB and third about 59mb

Hello Zaki,

Database of TwicFiles is huge and even in 3 segments, it takes some time to load. We had thought about keeping database to 1 files but technical limitations barred us from making it that way. TwicFiles1 contains oldest of 16 years of history while TWICFiles3 would contain latest ones. In look all the games are the same and only difference is their different databases.
