CHAI
Kahva is making a comeback and i dont like that one bit. My chai is endangered.
I only have kahva if im ill, its never been a substitute for chai. Kahva makes my skin crawl when I drink it
Nice. Amazing how little attention has been paid to tea cultivation in Pakistan given that a hugely tea drinking oriented culture persists in the country.
Achaaaaa,,,Asfandyar Saab mene ghar barbaad hote dekhen hai chai ki perfection ki talaash me... lol
Achaaaaa,,,
Ap tu buthhhh paunchay huay hein phr.
Kya kya nahi daik rakha aap na mashallah!
a questioin if i may
tea plantations are actually not that fruitful in utilizing the complete potential of land. and they have long term effects on the fertility but meri kaun sunega i am just a village idiot
I wont even pretend to know the intricacies of tea cultivation. All I know is that Pakistan imports around half a billion dollars worth of tea every year!

Kaffi ha? I am not here to settle persoanl grudges dear, kafi ha, buth ha are not for me. I share my views, if he disagree than that is HIS choice.aap arrange marriage thread pe jayen apke liye lahori kaafi hai hahaha
Sir, have you visited the area and seen where the tea farms are being planted? Once you have seen that TOO and still feel that the land could have been used better for other crops, do let me know and we can debate this. Just for reference, it is the hills, the slops of those mountains that are being used.Wese gujjar saab ye bataen kay cash crop laga kar zameen banjar karne ka idea kiska hai?
What are you talking about? That land should be used to grown "Bhindi" in your opinion? That is mad!chai uga rahe ho or sabziyaan bharat se mangwate ho
koi sharam nahi
koi haya nahi

Strange that you feel it all like some "competition". Wasay, i was just complementing your vast experience in which you have seen so many things like" chai pa toottay huay ghar".

Plus, as for importing from India, which vegetable was imported from India in 2017/18?
Plus, we exported the same crops back to India as well depending in surplus crop when it hits the market.
Sir neither tomato nor corn is being imported now and even in the past, we exported both as well. It is more about the availability and the timing when the crop hit market. As for the area, i am sorry but can you please tell what other things we could have planted in the fields being used for tea farms? Tea farms are being planted on slopes of the hills in that area as the tea plant need field with excellent drainage. The slants and slopes are being used not level fields and are being used as it is. Plus the soil in that region is mildly acidic and that is feasible for not many staple crops but mostly fruit plants only. Another thing that can be grown there is potato but that too need the slope of hill to be divided into small terraces, plain level fields made into the hill slop to use as agriculture land which not only consumes more resources and man hours to make the field but also degrade the natural terrain, risking land slides etc. Tea farms are advantageous in that area because plants are being planted in rows on the mounting sides without the need to leveling the field. Also tea plant is something that is quite sensitive and not possible to grow where ever you want to, corn do not have that problem. That particular area have been found suitable for tea plantation and that is a good thing as it not only provides good business opportunity and create job but also help us produce something that cannot be produces in other areas of Pakistan like plains of Punjab or Sindh and something that we have been importing in the past.competition kesa janaab... do log apas me agar baat karen to teesra admi usse faida hi le sakta hai ilmi mahaaz pe.... aap log har cheez ko manaazra bana lete hai... wese lahori ki baat ghalat nahi uss thread me...
i know the area. and i also know how it could have been utilized in other ways as well. i am not anti tea plantation i am just questioning the financial ethics of it sir...
timaatar se lekar chaaliya tak to india se arahi thi 2016 tak. bhala ho raheel sahab ka kay ab nahi arahi... paani nahi hai warna chawal ugga lete wahan... agriculture has evolved way way way past our understanding.
Arry nahi bhai,, who have told you this?a questioin if i may

Regarding rice, it is not feasible as the fields need to be leveled into small terraces and the soil need to be able to retain water. In the valley base, rice is possible and in fact, some of the areas further up north are being used for it.
Arry nahi bhai,, who have told you this?
How come tea plants are not fruitful in utilizing the complete potential of land??
And again, the land being used for tea plantation, the slants and slopes of hill side do not really have much potential for other crops without investing a lot into it. Plus, majority of those other crops are supported in MANY other areas, tea cannot be!!
tum jese chai kay pujariyon kay sath yahi hona chaiye tha...
ab ahista ahista kaali chai or kahva chaaron tarf se gher lega tumhe..
hu ha ha

Hold on. That is so blasphemous & you should be charged for it. How can you even say that to chai .
Report him and throw him to jail . such negativity shouldn't be allowed in this world .
Lassi is another level alltogether!samajh sakta hon.... angrez de gaya warna lassi se bhi khush they or kahwa se bhi
Yup, if you have interest in agriculture etc, these are some crops that are high in value and have potential of earning foreign exchange or at least reducing import bill. I developed an interest in THIS particular topic and crop when in my 9th grade social studies book i read that tea was among our second/third largest import after oil (though i doubt that to be authentic now but it is still high on the list) and i was like, what the fk, why cant we cut on its consumption and save some $$ for the country. Now that we are growing enough for our self, i can have as much tea as i want!chalen i will read more about it.
thanks for your input as well. appreciate it.
