Don't know about footage, but the revamped variant of the rifle has been assigned in limited numbers to individuals in each squad in certain regions. I know for certain that there are a number in operation in Syria at the moment.

Yes. Technically speaking, the version being produced at the moment is the MPT76 Mk.II. But officially it is still just called MPT76 as they dont like to acknowledge the embarrassment that they produced initially.

The initial version, failed all military and police trials / tenders. It was defeated by the HK417 in the POH trials and the HK416 / G28 / M110 in military trials. And that is why we still see HK417 being delivered to police and G28 being delivered to military even to this day, when MPT76 is; according to MKEK; "ready for combat".

The barrel life alone on the original model was actually atrocious and completely unacceptable. After the military and POH absolutely shat on what MKEK produced internally by itself, the decision was made that MKEK be assisted by more capable partners.

It seems that the new variant has far better performance than the original but to what extent is unknown. It should at least match the HK417 but isn't expected to be anywhere near the quality of the FN SCAR-H.

If it comes close to HK417 in quality it will be a great achievement for our industry as that is a high standard. I am very hopeful now that MKEK is not left unsupervised to produce the weapon.

Had it not been for the involvement of Kale and Sarzilmas, they(MKEK) probably would never ever be even capable of making a half decent rifle.

There's no such thing as a MPT76 Mk2. The rifle you're talking about was called the Mehmetcik-1. The MPT76 was designed by Kale, not MKEK.

I think he is talking about the first 7.62 version, Which we didn't really see before 2013, when we heard Kale would help in designing the rifle.
