its not koral its improved version of radet IKoral?
How did Turkey acquire knowledge to produce radars? Reverse engineering for any of it?
this tech is still useful today, and you have to remember this is Egypt's first radar. How many nations even produce any air search radar? ASELSAN has been doing this since 1991, that's like comparing ASELSAN to Raytheon at present. There is also a 450KM 3D radar under development.
You can't compare their revenues. Raytheon makes 27 billion and Aselsan doesn't make above 5 billion.ASELSAN is one of the best in the world for Tactical Military Radios , Radars , Defense Electronic Systems and Electronic Warfare Systems ,etc

Aselsan EIRS early warning Radar
EIRS is a new generation S-Band radar developed for long range early warning with its AESA and digital beamforming antenna architecture. EIRS has the ability to detect and track air breathing targets, ballistic missiles, anti-radiation missiles and stealth/low RCS targets from very long ranges
• State of the Art Solid-State Power Amplifier Technology
• Digital Beamforming
• Target Classification Capability
• Various Tactical Operation Modes
• Long Range Mod5/S IFF System (Compatible with NATO STANAG-4193)
• Compliance with the Tactical Communication Networks
• Advanced Electronic Protection Measures and Cyber Security
• Counter Measures against Anti-Radiation Missiles
Airborne AESA Radar
AESA Radar will be capable of non-co-operative and automatic target recognition, while also featuring protection against radar frequency jamming, and has electronic support and electronic attack functions
Its air-to-air capabilities include extended-range search, track while scan modes and weather detection, as well as multiple target tracking, providing mid-course guidance for missiles and battle damage assessment.
For ground surveillance applications, the design features synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and ground moving target indication/tracking (GMTI/T) modes, along with air-to-ground ranging
Aselsan believes its AESA radar could eventually compete with systems such as Northrop Grumman's APG-83 Scalable Agile Beam Radar
Aselsan STR Weapon Locating Long Range Radar
• Active Electronically Scanning Array (AESA)
• Solid State Power Amplifier
• Digital Beam Forming
• High Performance Signal-Data Processing and Recording infrastructure
• Complex Signal and Data Processing algorithms
• Operating Frequency : S Band
• Instrumented Range : 100 km
• Target classification
• Mortar/Artillery/Rocket
ASELSAN Weapon Locating Radar detects enemy mortars, artilleries, and rocket launchers and accurately calculates point of impact and point of origin using state of the art technology
You can't compare their revenues. Raytheon makes 27 billion and Aselsan doesn't make above 5 billion
Raytheon is ahead of ASELSAN by a good portion m8. Ask any defense expert and they will agree. We are not talking about revenues
We are talking about radar technology

He’s saying that aselsan is in the same league as the best companies of course no one is claiming that aselsan is better than raytheon or northrop gruman we should all respect aselsan for all what they managed to achieve after all no one can beat us defrnse companies because us alone has bigger budget than all other 30 countries combined so it is obvious that raytheon will have several times bigger revenue yet aselsan still can produce products with quality close to products made by its us counterpartsYou can't compare their revenues. It is not a licensed product, it was licensed in the late 80s, and early 90s and the production run was complete. The most important parts of any radar are produced by a select number of countries, because it would be economic stupid to make your own part when it would be much cheaper to buy from a nation that is developed at producing those components. We honestly don't know what Egypt is up to because it doesn't brag like Turkey does and give updates like a social media bitch. It is a licence product, the most important parts will be imported from country x. What i want to tell you is with out R&D you will be never able to build a decent Radar. Everyone in the world is using Galium Nitrite(GaN) in ther T&R module for stronger radar. Againg you will be 30 years behind in basic radar, With GaN you can build more T&R module because it is more heat resistant and better characteristics in electricity.
Egypt is building its own defense industry with participation with private sector. Again we don't know what is being researched by private, and military owned companies. This mean more universities and building your own defence industry with particaption of private sector. This is first step, i didn't see a decent time-line of projects from Egypt. You will see in the end that nobody will give you the tech, because everybody have invested time, money and people. The most difficult is educating engineers to that level.

Does China give updates everywhere? You are a disaster, key compentents are made in foreigner countries for economic reason. You don't have the tech and like you are not working for that. Giving updates on social media is what Turks want to see, he if your companies don't work they will show nothing in the end.
there were a picture at Aselsan used Qwip technology.. this is an old picture. Aselsan also developed the latest version of itNobody compere here Aselsan with Raytheon
We are talking about ASELSAN radar , electronics and electronic warfare products which only a few companies develops in the world such as Northrop Grumman USA , Raytheon Company USA , BAE Systems THE UK , Leonardo ITALY , Thales FRANCE , Elbit Systems ISRAEL , Saab SWEDEN also Russian companies
for example Aselsan Infrared Photodetectors ....... ( only The US,Israel,France,Turkey )

Don't you think it would be cheaper to buy them COTS from China or Russia? You are assuming that Egypt would want to produce them in house when even some European nations don't produce them in their nations some of the time. Those are the APAR S/X band TR module of Aselsan having a range more than 250km, exported to Thales Netherland. Those strategic modules are the heart of a radar. It has nothing to do with bragging. The capability is there in front of your eyes, and It is impossible to reach such capabilities in current engineering conditions of Egypt (in acc to my research).
