Aselsan to absorb MiKES business - IHS Jane's 360

Turkey's Aselsan has been granted permission to absorb its MiKES Microwave Electronic Systems subsidiary by the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, the parent organisation for both companies, Aselsan announced on 10 July.

Aselsan already owned 96.3% of MiKES share capital; however, the company operated as a separate subsidiary. It will now be fully integrated within Aselsan and cease operating as an independent entity. Aselsan first applied for permission to merge with MiKES on 9 May 2014 and the request was granted on 9 July, the company said.

The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation is effectively a state-operated holding group for key elements of Turkey's defence industry.
