Kale Group Vice President Osman Okyay was joined live broadcast of C4Defence's official Instagram account and made statements about the manufacturing process of the F-35 Lightning II. Okyay announced that the production related to the F-35 is still continuing while reminding that the orders in the aviation sector are given as long-term.

Following the American Court of Accounts decision that foresees the supply of sub-components from TR up to Lot 13-14 process: The manufacturing processes are planned to cover up to Lot 14 in the current situation. This means that the supply will continue until the end of 2021. Underlining that the next process is a complex equation involving international relations, Okyay stated that the production for the F-35 Lightning II could stop at that date if there will no different decision about production.

Turkey's role in the F35 Lightning adventure, will reshape by the steps to be taken in the future.

Next US election November 2020 lets see if relations change after that.

Next US election November 2020 lets see if relations change after that.

It's been going down ever since beginning of 2000, and a new president won't change relations at all. The congress is where it all starts and ends, if we had the congress then it wouldn't matter what the presidents did.

That's what israel has, the congress, doesn't matter if the president is with them or not. if the president supports israel the rollercoaster does faster, if not, then it goes slowly. but it's still a rollercoaster ride with an obvious end. (what israel wants, israel gets sort of thing).

Such a joke. They pushed the date Turkey would be out of the Program now what 3 or 4 times over the last two years ?!

The last date we were supposed to be out was March 2020. That was 3 months ago.

Just hand over the planes already. It is crystal clear the US has problems replacing Turkish firms 100%. Which is not a surprise anyone with an ounce of understanding knew this would happen. Nothing will change over the next year. The program is still plagued with many problems, its biggest being spare parts procurement. How will kicking out dozens of Turkish Firms help with that?

Big surprise it won’t. It will only get worse, I’m not even factoring the cost difference in labour into this.

So easy solution for everyone:

Hand over the planes. US profits, Turkey profits. Everybody is happy.

I can confidently say that, if the Biden wins Turkey-US relations will be thrown into the freezer for a long time.

Seeing how Biden isn’t even there the majority of times, it wouldn’t surprise me if the DNC lets lobbyist run his FP.

Obama destroyed the relations, Biden will make sure there isn’t one for the next 5 decades.

Good opportunity for Turkey to arm twist US. First delay and then completely stop production if the US doesnt hand over Turkey its jets.

Naah, I hope we can keep delivering and they don't find a replacement. That would mean we rake in cash on this project.

Like someone said once before. We may be out now, but who knows, we may be receiving F35 in the future.

I imagine that's gonna be around the time our own TF-X starts flying or such. They'll realize it's more dangerous to have a Turkey that doesn't need US jets.

Turkey Will Make F-35 Parts Throughout 2020, Far Longer Than Anticipated

U.S. officials had aimed to get Turkish companies out of the jet’s supply chain by March.

Turkey will continue making parts for the F-35 through 2020, at least a year and a half after the country was ejected from the Joint Strike Fighter program, the Pentagon’s top buyer said.

Defense leaders had hoped to find U.S. sources for all Turkish-made components by March, but have decided to allow prime contractor Lockheed Martin and engine-maker Pratt & Whitney to honor contractual obligations that will keep some parts arriving until year’s end.

“The majority of our supply chain will be out of Turkey by March 2020,” Ellen Lord, the defense undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment, said Tuesday at a Defense Writers Group breakfast.

But Lockheed Martin and Pratt “have contracts in place that will perhaps carry out to the end of the year” that affect “a handful of systems,” she said. “We continue to manage the program to minimize impact to production.”

The Turkish parts are for six key components of the plane, including the jet’s fuselage and landing gear, an industry source said.

The parts are already paid for, the source said.

Ten Turkish companies built more than 900 F-35 parts before U.S. officials removed NATO ally Turkey from the project because Ankara bought S-400 surface-to-air missiles from Russia. Removing Turkey from the F-35 supply chain is expected to cost between $500 million and $600 million.

Four Turkish-owned F-35s are being stored at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. The planes were being used for pilot training. Washington and Ankara must negotiate what will happen to those planes since Turkey owns them. There have been no discussions between Pentagon and Turkish officials about what happens to those aircraft, Lord said.

The U.S. Air Force is expected to receive 24 other jets — which are in various stages of production — that were being built for Turkey.

Lockheed built 134 F-35s last year, up from 91 in 2018 and 66 in 2017. The company is expected to build 141 jets this year and up to 160 per year by 2023.

==========================================

This is expected as many F-35 contracts have already been signed & paid. I reckon Turkish suppliers will continue to deliver parts for this year and perhaps throughout the next year as well (or whatever parts that they are already paid to manufacture), but I wouldn't be so sure about the future of Turkish companies in F-35 program as the US government is determined to kick out all Turkish firms from the supply chain.

I have no clue why everybody thinks that democrats are worse for Turkey when its republicans who thrown Turkey out of F-35 programme and put sanctions.

.

The architect of the sanctions against Turkey(which haven yet been implemented) and the one who pushed the House to recognize the "Armenian Genocide" Bill filled with lies on the same day as Republic Day has lost the primary to another Democrat.

Bye Bye Engel maybe you should have listened more to the people you represented instead of lining your pockets with dirty money from the Armenian Mafia and doing their bidding.

Wrong, the push came both from Democrats and Republicans. We are not talking about the Parties here though, but about two individuals, Trump is more likely to help Turkey out in his second term as well as the Republicans, as they will follow whatever Trump tell them to do, because he doesnt need to think about reelection.

Congress is controlled by Jewish lobby. Trump actually wanted to sell F-35 to Turkey.
