Mate, it's true....things really folded like that....but i'm seeing various news, stories in the internet which gives me chills.

This story brought @Neptune in my mind.......

http://aa.com.tr/tr/turkiye/fetonun-gata-oyunu/613523

You know the Ergenekon, Balyoz, etc....

I don't know how much of our military have been infiltrated....true that if they had much more followers, coup would be succeed..... but still it's giving me chills.

Correct bro, in deed there were even worse, crucial attempts to push us to resign from TAF training institutions. If we all were to stress it out, nobody would ever mind to join up. But of course it needed to be seen by public as well. The officer that was in charge of indoctrinization period in our time to Tuzla, is imprisoned right now on charges of attempting to overthrow the Constitutional order. The only regret I might have today is, to hold on a bit longer so that at least in the wake of events today we could have done something. But it would be irrelevant since they would crack the sh.it of our disciplineary points. Even today, I chose to serve actively. I found out that by the military code of conduct I can't even be a specialist sgt, when I applied for its exams. A captain gave me a letter of refusal for exams citing that any officer cadet that have been suspended of military academies is not even accepted to be a specialist. It is a long gone dream for us like I said, but we wont hesitate if recalled upon.

Bullocks. We don't want your unsubstantiated opinion. You are a senior moderator, if senior modertators utter such nonsense ive got no words
I consider your opinion unsubstantiated and petty. You have provided no proof on Erdogan not being on a personal vendetta to remove all his opponents and instead are trying to be self righteous about "moderators"??

Erdogan has let power go to his head and was hand in hand with ISIS because it provided cheap oil; which his family profits from as well. His achievement is that he actually does do good for Turkey in terms of economy and infrastructure but that does not absolve him of promoting his self interests. That makes him no better than India's Modi.

.
Now its just pure political BS. I support the keeping of democracy in Turkey but Erdogan is on a warpath only for himself, the Turkish people be screwed.

Exactly what many people here of different countries have said.

Somehow your countrymen support Erdogan more than his own countrymen do. Don't understand the logic.

Please keep our and mine countrymen out since your countrymen too have no idea of reality and find some reason to demean Pakistanis.

Erdogan HAS made development and progress(just as Modi has which is why the example) which is why he IS popular with a large percentage of people in Turkey.
Yet he has made excesses in religious right activism just as Modi did. The difference is that Modi has NOT engaged in personal financial profit as such while Erdogan has.

he is a textbook politician... who does not control his army and relies on massive and vocal public support(which requires fair bit of demagoguery) to stay in power.... his politics might be of Modi but faces situation of Bhutto. I hope he is not killed, for democracy's sake.

He did a lot of good work in the beginning in his first term. In fact, it was Erdogan's focus and dedication that earned Turkey respect around the world (other than Ataturk's legacy of course).

However, power corrupted him and now he's gone out of control.

That, is what Pakistanis are not able to see. It is good to appreciate the sincerity he showed initially but Mr E has strayed from his path.

And I having been to his country, only feel sad that such a beautiful country is being turned inside out for one person's politics. I have a lot of respect for what Turkey has become since WW1.

Oh boy, the experts are in again.

Erdogan has a large fanbase in Pakistan it seems.

It is logic. Political support is not depend on ethnic affiliation, it's depend on political view.

ANKARA
Russian fighter jet in November 2015 on the Syrian border have been arrested and officials are looking into whether they have links to the Gülen movement, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said during an interview with Al-Jazeera late on July 20.

Underlining that the Russian Su-24 had been warned multiple times for violating Turkish airspace, Erdoğan said the authorities do not know whether the pilots’ decision to down the jet was influenced by their links to Fethullah Gülen, a U.S.-based Islamic scholar said to be behind the failed military coup attempt on July 15.

“We still do not know whether this incident and the links of these people [the pilots] have anything to do with [the downing of the Russian jet]. But these pilots may have links to Pennsylvania,” the president said, referring to the northeastern U.S. state where Gülen has been living since 1999.

“[The pilots] have been detained and the courts will unravel the truth,” Erdoğan told Al-Jazeera. The downing of the Russian jet on Nov. 24, 2015 sparked a diplomatic crisis between Turkey and Russia, striking a serious blow to Turkey – especially to its tourism industry which is hugely reliant on Russian tourists. Turkey’s exports to Russia also dropped to $484.6 million, a 61.5 percent decrease compared to the same period of 2015.

Turkey and Russia broke the ice after Erdoğan sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin in late June to express his deep sorrow over the downing of the jet, and his wishes to normalize bilateral relations.

With the normalization of ties, Moscow removed some sanctions on trade and restrictions on Russian tourists, though it will continue to impose a visa regime on Turkish nationals.

HAHAHA... HAHAHA...HAHAHA...

Russians are not so Stupid ... Like I said before Turkey is cozying up towards Russian camp... But Putin is smart enough...

Erdogan thought to play US and EU against Russian when they shot Russian fighter now they are trying to Play Russains against US by alleged Gulen link... in both case turkey looses...

You seem to be right, Herr Bismarck.

I also guess because Pakistanis are keen to look out for a strong leader who actually listens to their problems.
There is massive disillusionment in Pakistani populance for the current civilian politicians. Erdogan is seen as a hero as he doesn't mince his words, no matter whether he is wrong or right.

I remember back in 2013, any random person showing strong political leadership was fawned over by our people as well because of the miserable leadership we had at that point of time.

Maybe if Pakistan can get a strong, balanced leader willing to do what is actually needed, they will realise how wrong Erdogan's policies have been after 2008 in misdirecting a good nation like Turkey.

There was a saying in the movie Singham: "Pulees walon ki na dosti achhi hoti hai, na dushmani..... Tu toh dono hi kar baitha re'.

So next time which Turkish pilot will dare to shoot down a foreign fighter entering their airspace?
Same as no Pakistani Pilot ever shoots own American drones after Kargil Debacle by Nawaz Sharif

Sharif? He was innocent here. You forgot that it was your general Musharraf that caused it.

Sharif only asked US to mediate and stop this madness. He's a businessman and knows the importance of resources.
