He could have used Turkey's good relationship with Israel to make a difference to the common Palestinian's life. But even he must be knowing the problem will be convincing Hamas, not Israel.

These settlements were built in 1970-1980-es. When all the entire West Bank and Gaza were under the Israeli control.

In 1994 Israel provided Palestinians a wide autonomy (green area), which led to wave of suicide attacks form there with hundreds of Israeli casualties.

In 2000 Israel offered Palestinians a state, they rejected and started the second intifada, which led to over 1200 Israeli casualties.

In 2002 Israel launched operation Defensive Shield in West Bank, which eventually defeated suicide terrorism.

In 2005 Israel removed all the settlements and soldiers from Gaza. That led to drastic escalation of rocket fire from there with some 8000 rockets.

Israel had plans to remove most of the settlements in West Bank in 2006, but these plans foiled because of the increased rocket attacks.

There is not a single rocket coming from West Bank with settlements.

My position is that Israel should remove settlements which are deep inside the West Bank, but maintain soldiers there.

Settlers exploit the fact that there are no rockets from West Bank to expand settlements. Most of the Israelis dont realize that its army in West Bank which prevents the rockets, not the settlements.
