Turkish Peace Operations in Syria (Operation Olive Branch) Updates & Discussions

The richest and most educated/valuable Syrians already took their Western passports and refugee statuses in Western Europe, Canada and America, believe me... Turkey is just a refugee camp that keeps on feeding millions of people who hate us in the guts...

Turkish citizenships should be given to Syrian Turkmens only, no matter how educated they are. Rest of them so called refugees should either go back home in Syria and fight for their homes or be sent to Alexis Tsipras and eventually Mutti Angela. Nobody wants them in Turkey aniway.

True it is late to give TUrkish citizenships to well educated and businessmans Syrians BUT conditions new matured yet for it and still opposing parties refuse that and cheating people by saying all Syrian people will be Turkish citizen but it is a big LIE. Thats why we has to care about those people and use them for our interests.

However As we know Erdoğan behave equal to all nations like Turks, Arabs etc. BUT even so Turkish state have gave citizenships to many Turkmans also im supporting this but other side Turkman people has to go back their own land after war so that Turkey allways can be strong at region.

Assad is negotiating with pkk to give them semi-autonomy in syria. What a moron, does he really think a american puppet semi-state will stop and behave? He will regret it once they suddenly want more and call Damascus kurdish. Such a idiot instead of working together with us and iraq and iran to completly wipe them out he bends over for the americans. The SAA would have been better off if they had thrown him out of a window from his palace.
I don't think we can blame Assad that much. He doesn't have the capacity to control all of Syria again, from the beginning of this civil war that was a given. I don't think he will ever control all of Syria again like he did before, that's in the past . Since Syria is now defacto divided into zones of influence with Russia and Iran (with its proxies: Hezbollah and foreign Shia militias) being Assad's defacto guarantor/life support, Kurds having defacto autonomy/their own state backed by the U S/West, Turkey/KSA and gulf states backing FSA and other rebel groups who control part of Syria, ISIS still controlling some remote part of Syria n towns and villages (and will probably remain in the country or go underground to wage a guerrilla/terror war if defeated conventionally) etc.

So I think Assad is being pragmatic, better to control and keep the areas he can control and rule while still remaining Syria's president (even if it's only official) than to engage into another war with the Kurds when he's struggling to handle ISIS and other FSA Rebel groups. So I think he's being smart by engaging the Kurds and striking a deal with them this early.

You have to consider that the situation in Syria is different from the situation in Iraq , since Iraq's government is a U.S/Western ally and Iraqi army is heavily supported/armed/trained/equipped and backed militarily by the U S,U.K,and other western powers , so the Iraqi government can even wage war on the Kurds in their heartland and the U S,U.K, France and other western powers will remain silent or turn a blind eye or even publicly support Iraq. while Syria is a different case/opposite. It's a Russian ally and backed by Moscow and to a lesser extent Iran, as such the Syrian regime doesn't really enjoys the privileges the Iraqi government does, even more so while Syrian Kurds have been a good Western ally(in fact the main force the West relied on in Syria) in the fight against Isis. So western powers reaction towards a Syrian /Russian military assault on the Kurds in Syria will be totally different.

Moreover, Russia doesn't even have any real issues/conflict of interests with the Kurds and might not support any war by Assad against them . Russia's main issue and targets have been the FSA and any rebel group that opposes and fights it's ally Assad, which I think is normal, since every world power in this conflict is only after their own national interests and nothing more.

In fact Soviet Russia (and even modern Russia) have been one of the biggest backers both politically, militarily and ideologically of Kurdish groups who were historically Communist and inspired by Moscow's Communist/socialist regime. So the situation in Syria is totally different from that in Iraq. So I understand Assad's action on this issue.

US ignores question about Raqqa victory being dedicated to terrorist leader Öcalan

439

The U.S. declined to directly comment Friday on the unveiling of a huge banner of jailed terror leader Abdullah Öcalan by the PKK-affiliated People's Protection Units (YPG)-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Syrian city of Raqqa.

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) and its armed wing YPG, the Syrian branch of the PKK, which has waged war against Turkey for more than 30 years, was among the U.S.-backed SDF to take Raqqa from Daesh earlier this week.

The taking of the eastern city -- considered Daesh's de facto capital -- was marked by the unfurling of a huge banner bearing the terrorist leader's image in the main square.

Questioned about "a victory enabled by the U.S. that is dedicated to a terrorist group," Pentagon spokeswoman Dana W. White declined to comment directly.

"We work with the SDF," she told a news conference. "And we work to help them focus on fighting ISIS [Daesh]. That is our sole responsibility. That's our sole commitment. And we'll continue to work by, with and through the SDF to ensure that we defeat ISIS."

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım criticized the U.S. Friday for cooperating with terrorist groups and endangering Syria's future and said that the poster has proven Turkey's point regarding YPG.

"What does the U.S. want to see to comprehend that the PYG and PYD are terrorist organizations?" Yıldırım said, adding that U.S.' cooperation with such groups damages relations between the two countries.

The U.S. has supported the SDF, which consists of the PKK/PYD and other groups, in fighting Daesh in Syria but has largely ignored its links to the PKK, which the U.S., EU and Turkey list as a terrorist group.

In a declaration of victory in Raqqa, the PKK/PYD also released a video dedicating the triumph to Öcalan, who founded the PKK in 1978. The terrorist leader was jailed for treason in Turkey in 1999.

Since the PKK launched its terror campaign in Turkey in 1984, tens of thousands have been killed.

Turkey has criticized the U.S. for cooperating with a terrorist group to replace another one. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has highlighted that the U.S. contradicts the NATO alliance by supporting terrorist groups.

Turkey considers the PKK's Syrian offshoot the Democratic Union Party (PYD) and the YPG to be affiliates of the PKK, a proscribed terrorist organization according to the U.S., Turkey and the EU. The U.S. and the EU do not share Ankara's concerns regarding the YPG. Continuous U.S. support for the YPG has caused tensions in relations between Washington and Ankara while the former says that supporting the YPG is the only option to defeat Daesh and the latter says an alternative could be found with local Arab tribes, backed by countries in the region, rather than supporting and arming "a terrorist group."

Türk ve Rus askeri heyetleri Halep’e geldi
Bu sabah Halep’in kuzeyinde Kürt birliklerin kontrolünde bulunan bölgeye 4 Rus helikopteri ile geldi. Diğer taraftan Halep’in doğu kısmına da Türk helikopterleri geldi.
Afrin’in Kefir Cenne askeri kampına Rus güçlerine ait dört zırhlı aracın gelmesiyle, Rus helikopterleri Menega askeri hava alanından ayrıldı.

Halep’in kuzeybatı tarafından bulunan Azez yakınlarında bir köy olan Maranaz Hava alanı ve çevresine Rus bayrakları asıldı.

Türk askeri heyeti helikopterlerle Halep’in doğu kesiminde bulunan el Bab yakınındaki Şeyh Akil dağındaki Türk askeri üssüne iniş yaptı. Helikopterler daha sonra Türkiye’ye geri döndü.

Rus askerleri, Fırat kalkanı sınırları içinde bulunan ve Astana sürecinde çatışmasız alan ilan edilen Afrin yakınlarındaki Kürt yerleşim bölgesinde devriye gezmeye başladı.
