No official data on this shot has been released. The numbers mentioned are all speculation. There is only one real data, the missile fired is a missile in inventory. And we are making test shots from Sinop to Rize. This shot was made in the opposite direction, from Rize to Sinop. So this is not a test shot. Probably a warning message to someone.

To speak the truth, I do not think that this message was given to Greece. When there was news that Iran was going to supply ballistic missiles to Russia, this shot was made then. I think the message is for these two.

If we were to send a message to Greece, we would shoot from Cyprus and hit a target in international waters off the island of Crete. It made a lot more noise!

Target was 561km thats official, we can say 561km+ range. Maybe it is more then 1000km.

We never used S-125, it was bought for our Libyan allies. We already introduced Hisar-A/A+/Hisar-O/Korkut/Sungur into our inventory along with S-400, and ofcourse with Siper being in development among others. The meme about outdated air defence system can be buried now.

Well my friend, unlike the Greeks, we don't throw stones at Cretans heads because we want to be kind to Cretans, but instead we throw them into the sea.

Because we think Cretans are people like us who don't like Greeks!

Joke aside, we have never used the S-125. But we've been fooling ourselves for years with systems that are just as crappy as S-125 is. (i.e. Hawk)

There still lots of older systems sure, though the S-125 is kind of misleading since they are not used by us. They are still very useful and capable in their own right. I mean Ukraine effectively contested the air space and largely won with far older Soviet era relics and systems. Most countries don't have the best of the best air planes or fighter jets, so its pointless to get rid of them entirely. They will probably be put in low-level service or storage. Pretty normal doctrine for any armed forces in the world.

Yeah.the HAWK needs to go. We've both upgraded it a long time ago,but it's just not that good anymore. Every time I see it in the parade,the missiles look so big and bulky. A different era weapon.

and Turkiye deployed S-125s in Libya
